Thanks to the earlier help from TeamLiquid last week, I have finally managed to finish up this drawing that I have been working on over the past month and a half. Unfortunately, i'm a very slow artist but i'd like to the think the results are worth it. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to drawing faces and i'd like to improve upon that as well as my overall speed over the upcoming year if my semester allows it.
I started off working on it in painter, doing most of the skin for the couple using the simple tint brush, but i ended up going back to photoshop in the end. I simply have too many more years of experience over painter and i feel much more at home in the adobe suite.
Learned a lot about texturing and how to rely less on layers. For convenience sake, i had hair/body/big leafs/small leafs/mushrooms layer. It saves a lot of time when adding color below a pre-existing layer and not having to worry about the color bleeding everywhere.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy this work as much as i do

While we have the "kissing in the rain" headline, i do not recommend it. As romantic as it may seem to some its quite troublesome. I was walking back with my girlfriend a few years back and we were walking up hill when it started raining. We were near the top of the hill so she decided to take us up to the top and kiss a bit. First, wet hair really gets in the way in that scenario =\. Second, we both ended up catching cold plagued with a plethora of stuffy nose, sore throat and mild fever.
There are definitely better situations to kiss than in the rain D: (without an umbrella at least)

The whole picture makes lots more sense than the close up of their faces you posted! Also, really good job making the improvements from your last blog. ^_^ I like it a lot! The only thing I can say is I think it might have been a nicer 'atmosphere' to have less light coming from the foreground, and let the little glowing plants in the background light them up like magic.
(Also her long hair confuses me a bit because it seems short next to her face and you can't see it really falling all the way down her back, it just shows up further down.)

Hey, well I guess i'll critque since im a Media Art & Animation Major so I attend art school for characters.
- The biggest thing that I noticed right away is the hair over the eyes for the female needs more depth in shading, atm it looks a littlel ike you jsut placed it there.
- The mans hand needs some depth as well it just looks slightly odd the way it is, maybe emphasise the knuckles more?
- Your faces are actually very good maybe a little shading on the eye lids and cheeks of the female to show facial features.
Other than a few shading thinks that would add depth this is a very well done piece and I hope you continue to share your work with TL =D.

@teivospy, its more of a cloth-thing attached to the side of his pants, the emblem on it is a lion rearing back :D
@phtes: extra thanks to you for catching those things. I updated it after reading your comments this morning. Highlighted his knuckles and adjusted the shadows down there a little bit. Made they hair by the girls face follow the contour of her cheeks more + add some wet hair to further emphasize the depth around the nose area. You made me realize i forgot fingernails last time so i added those as well. but art school for characters, mind if i bug you for critique in the future as well? :D

Haha I didn't even notice the alck of fingernail xD.
