So I'm trying to learn Spanish for self-enrichment. I'm kind of bummed I ignored my parent's advice in high school but it's not a big deal really. I took 4 years of Latin, loved the class, but now I want to learn to speak another language.
At the moment I'm downloading podcasts and taking books from the library and progress is slow and steady. Vocab isn't too much of an issue for me but I don't really have a classroom setting in order to interact and get feedback. It really is nice to know when you are doing something or just need an explanation on something. If you have any advice for a gringo like me on other methods that work well feel free to share 
Now this takes me to Starcraft. I spend a lot of time on these forums. More than I should. I often find myself at the end of the day with very little study/practice in for learning Spanish and a lot time wasted on reading not so important threads on TL or watching vods. So I thought to myself, why not combine these two things to help my motivation.
Anyone know of any quality source of vods/streams that are in Spanish just to work on listening comprehension while enjoying SC? Much appreciated ^^

maybe also try finding spanish people to play SC with, they can point out mistakes you make and help you with grammar.
I've basically never studied at all back in school and learned my english on SC and its various websites

Best fucking advice ever.
If you really want to learn Spanish, cut down on using TL or do your work first. I know it sounds very obvious and unhelpful, but it's simply the best way to solve your problem.
Edit: I don't know if there are Spanish VoDs out there, as I doubt that SC2 is popular with the Spanish-speaking community (:p). Though who knows, you can make a thread in the TL Community Forum asking if there are such people and if they know of SC2 VoDs in Spanish. Other than that, good luck!

This is the way to go. You can study all you want, but the only way to truly "get" a language is to practice it with people who are fluent. Playing Starcraft with folks will definitely help (but be sure to avoid placing too much emphasis on the jargon, and focus on the grammar, usually the hardest part of any language), as will talking to them on Skype/TS/whatever to get pronunciation and inflection correct.

Thanks for all the advice! I do have a friend who plays and is fluent and I plan on asking him to only communicate with me in Spanish while we play 2v2 haha.
I know I need to put in the time and immersion is obviously the best route to learning, what I'm really looking for here at TL is the connection with Starcraft

I agree with the people above, the best way to learn is not just to listen but to interact with. You'll find that by listening to the language spoken your comprehension will become excellent, but your ability to construct sentences and make your meanings clear will not. Also, grammar won't be helped much by just listening, those little things really get by you.

I'm a native spanish speaker and I love teaching.
I have a mumble server where I'm alone the whole day and have an spanish friend who connects to the server from time to time.

Haha I never said I'm quitting TL but that I spend more time reading forums and watching vods than I should. Once again just looking to merge to interests to create increased motivation

Mediavida is an spanish forum community. Almost all the spanish people meet there and in the spanish b.net forums.
For spanish vods look for them in the spanish bnet forum. The casters are TERRIBLE though. I still want to find one that is somewhat similar to the english ones.
The community meets in the official bnet forums more than in the rest of the webpages.
About "aprender starcraft2" they are more a team with a forum than an actual learning site. They write some articles from time to time, but they are almost allways translations from english content (liquipedia & stuff) or something used by them in ladder/tournaments explained kinda poor.
They are not bad players at all, but they still have much to learn in terms of teaching. It is my opinion though, someone could think differently.
Spain has a shit skill level overall. Just a bunch of GM level players wich don't do well in tournaments (imo because they don't try hard enough) and almost all casters are diamond-ish or below.
In terms of content, the best place is the bnet spanish forums without doubt. If there are no decent stickies you will have to dig a little to find good posts (have in mind that the forum is plagued with gold level players and below when doing so).

There is no huge content creator in spanish yet. Most of the people that are creating content are still learing so there is no great places or casters to look for. There are some diamond-ish casters in the scene though, as said in my previous post.
Although, I have no clue about the LA scene. There could be some concent in latin american spanish, but I have no idea.
On another topic, the OP didn't respond to my offer yet, so I'm still looking for people to do spanish/english exchange/teaching without setting sc2 apart. If someone is interested feel free to PM me.

Thanks! It doesn't really matter that they're not that good, Spanish is Spanish and SC2 is SC2.

I'm a white boy trying to learn Spanish as well I have taken 2 classes at my college and picked up some stuff, although the majority that I've been able to pick up is all thanks to my gf :D
Sometimes I try and pretend like I don't speak English on ladder and that is good practice lol.
And thanks for making this, I'm going to be using all of these links everyone has posted!
