I don't know if you think you're being funny when you facetiously accuse yourself of "hurting esports," but whenever I hear an esports personality playfully make this hackneyed comment, I just inwardly groan.
At this point, "hurting esports" is used sarcastically many times more than it is used earnestly.
I honestly don't understand why people make this "dastardly clever" jab. It's certainly not original, and nobody I've ever met has found it funny (excluding the co-commentator, who inevitably responds with awkward laughter and a "yes, we're trying to... errr... murder esports).
Am I missing the metajoke? Are these people mocking those mock the idea of hurting esports? Do you recognize how unfunny the joke is, and repeat it because of that, like a bad internet meme? Regardless, I hope this blog plants a seed in a few Starcraft personalities' minds and makes them think twice before parroting this sillly joke any more.

the word eSports has been overused by SC2 fans who flooded the 'esports scene'... casters are just following the wave, and afaik they find it funny

Everyone has their peeves when people talk, and you're sitting around listening to people talk for entire games. They are bound to mess with you, and talk about things known by every member of the community.
Also Esports= Starcraft 2 in the starcraft 2 community. I have no idea why we take the broader term when we could just say Your hurting starcraft 2. But the I couldnt giggle at

Now I can't help but go off topic. Getting your thread closed is really infuriating.This is a blog. 100 people will read it. Yet, for some reason, it's incredibly, incredibly frustrating to get something closed.
It's easy to laugh at this guy. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=244235. I mean "Closed: a poster's nightmare's" sounds like it could be a made for cable horror movie. Or maybe a disney movie about an anthropomorphic open/closed double sided poster (I guess "a poster's nightmare" sounds too mature for disney--maybe Pixar). But yeesh, I can relate in a little way.
Anyways, now I can let this blog die a peaceful death ^_^.

Trust me read any controversial topic thread on TL or Reddit and you will find PLENTY of people yelling "this is killing esports!" or "this is hurting esports!!!!"
