Currently unnamed Warlord heavy destroyer

Patriarch-class Dreadnaught

Neither are quite finished yet (the bottom/rear on the destroyer in particular needs touching up) but next time you'll see them is in Episode 1.

The destroyer is about 12k poly and the DN about 21k or so.

Modeling time - the DN is about 6 hours and the DD about 10.

/e the DN's base hull took around 10 hours or so 3 years ago but I hacked it apart into a tiny fragment of what it once was.

These are awesome, are you making them just for fun or do you have an assignment from some big scifi show? Also, where do you draw your influences from?

I have no influences, they are drawn from my mind mostly. They are related to my novel, as I have detailed upon in past blogs, and they'll see use in Black Sun: Salvation Episode 1, which is a video project.

I don't know how to UV or texture so, no, I don't worry about it. When they go ingame they just use a simple tiling plating texture, like so;

I have everything in my head but translating it to material is... very hard.

I am putting them in sins for the video project, yeah. I don't know how to do full-blown CGI so I'm using sins as my platform.

These ships look really cool. I recommend you also try a more synthetic/organic approach to your ships, such as the insect-like gunships of Half Life 2, just for fun. I think you can make very awesome ones

The closest to synthetic I have currently would be the DyiithJhinn, which I may be able to get into Episode 1. We'll see. I need to finish Anahn and UD fleets first.
