My first blog post! Yay!
Anyway, I was wondering if I could get some advice on positioning my hand on my mouse. Here's the story:
My old mouse was a microsoft wireless mouse (ugh, I know), and it really was getting old and worn out. When school ended, I decided to use a little money and get a Razer Deathadder mouse based on TL forum suggestions, research, etc. I got it, and it's amazingly accurate, but I have one slight problem with positioning my hand. My old mouse was very compact and short, lending my hand to assume the "claw" position. However, with the Deathadder, the mouse is much longer, making me lay my hand much closer to the mouse. Here is a picture for reference:
As of now, I have my thumb under the two side buttons, my index finger on my left mouse button and my middle on my right, with my ring and pinky kinda scrunched up on the right side. The issue I'm running into is that this position doesn't allow much easy movement of my mouse, especially down. My mouse settings are 6/11 for windows and 52/53% in SC2, and yet it is kinda hard to get to the side of the screen (not impossible, but weird).
Is there any certain hand position I should use with this mouse? Any advice would be helpful.

You're holding it right.
Inability to move certain lengths is more of a matter of how much liberty you have with your forearm and elbow.

the right side is terrible on this mouse, there's no real "right" way to grip it. it's the reason i switched mouse rather quickly when i had this one :/

Uhh I'm pretty sure that hand positioning is standard for that mouse size and almost everyone uses it. I have never had any problem moving my mouse with my DA or any other mouse. Maybe it's just something you need to get used to.

I like your username

Hahaha, Megaliskuu you WOULD say that.

that's the exact issue i had when i first purchased the mouse but after some time you get used to it and my hand started to hurt less from the claw grip. your movements will be awkward due to this at first but it'll be more beneficial later on, at least it was in my case.

The Deathadder is not designed for claw grip, it is designed for palm grip. You're basically forced to use a palm grip while using it because that is the only grip that is comfortable.
If you think you can switch to palm grip, do that. Otherwise, I'd suggest buying another mouse that better fits your grip style.

Do you have a really big monitor? Try increasing DPI maybe. This would allow you to move around the screen with less movement of your hand. I use claw with my DA. My palm will touch the mouse sometimes but I still control it with only my fingers. I rarely move my entire hand. Just my fingers and wrist. I also hold it the same as you.
My hands are medium-big sized I think.

I thought it was megalisk returned again, then i realized that he was unpermed...
OT I basically hold my deathadder the same way, except my index finger lies on both the left and middle buttons, and my pinky sorta drags on the desk. Lazy style for me.

I have relatively large hands (9 inch span) and I could never grip the DA comfortably. I eventually had to switch. Fantastic sensor though.
Your best bet would probably be a hybrid claw/palm, with an emphasis on keeping your hand and fingers as relaxed and tension free as possible.
