So, since I've been back from Bonnaroo (extremely large music festival in Manchester, TN for those who don't know) I've been trying to look-up information on what happened to me, which I will be explaining. I've been having a lot of trouble finding info anywhere and was hoping someone could give me some insight on here.
So, as I got to Bonnaroo with my friends and we were all setting up our camping area, a guy was walking around selling shrooms. I had never had them before, but wanted to try them, so I bought an eighth (3.75grams) and the shrooms were blue and green, which apparently meant they were really good. Anywho, the first night we were there (Thursday) I tried them. I ventured off from my friends to go back to our campsite and eat them. My friend told me to eat half of it, but I instead ate a little under half because I was worried it might be too much. As I was walking back to Centeroo (the main event area) I started feeling sick to my stomach, which apparently is normal with shrooms. I couldn't find my friends once I got into the main event area so I got a little scared and nervous and was wandering around for at least 1 to 2 hours ( I had absolutely no conception of time at all). After a while I had one of the biggest body highs I've ever had in my entire life and was feeling REALLY good and eventually found my friends and had an awesome night seeing some awesome shows.
So, Saturday rolls around and I still had over half an eighth left. All of my friends who were there and myself went to get a good spot to see Wiz Khalifa, and we were right up towards the front. The main act we were waiting to see was Eminem and we all wanted front row spots to see him, but we had to wait through another set as it went Wiz, The Black Keys, and then Eminem. So, after Wiz was done I started to feel sick ( hadn't done anything at all that day, keep in mind) and the crowd was ridiculous, so I decided to walk out and get some water and try and eat something. As I was gone I had the rest of the shrooms left, so I decided to eat them at around 6-7. I slipped the rest of them into the PB&J I had made for that occasion and ate them. I walked back to sit down and watch the Black Keys, I began to trip FUCKING hard. I had absolutely no idea of time as the Black Keys set only seemed to last 2 songs to me.... I was hallucinating and the whole nine yards. After the Black Keys ended I decided I wanted to see if it was possible at all for me to get to my friends in the front row to watch Eminem (it wasn't possible). I ended up fairly close to the stage, but here's where everything went really bad.
I remember standing behind two guys and it began to start storming, and I was completely squeezed in and there was absolutely no moving, so I got a little scared about it. Next thing I remember I was on the ground with people saying "watch out he's gonna throw up" and people looking into my face and saying "you're at bonnaroo honey, what's your name?" During the time I was blacked-out seemed to last FOREVER and was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life. I didn't know if I was dead or dreaming, but I remember trying to reach out and grab something like I was falling off of a cliff and it seeming like I was in a fun house with people pointing and laughing at me. As I said, I woke up on the ground back in the crowd at Bonnaroo with tons of people staring at me, and two older ladies helping me (giving me tons of water and nutrition bars). One of the older ladies said she was a nurse and that it looked as if I may have had a seizure. Eminem didn't start for another hour, so in between that time, the two older ladies just kept giving me water (I honestly hadn't even had that much to drink or eat that day and it was in the 90s all day). Once Eminem started, I felt alright enough to stand up and watch his set, and after wards went to find my friends, who all ended up being shitfaced and couldn't really help, although being around them made me feel better.
I got back yesterday, slept for about 15 hours, and now I'm feeling kind of odd. I feel a little light headed almost, and my vision/perception seems a little skewed and I'm really not sure why this is and it's a little concerning. I'm not sure if this is the drugs or what, but it feels like my head is still under a trip or something, I was REALLY hoping someone would be able to give me some insight on whats going on, if this is permanent or temporary or what.
Thanks.

Tough luck bro i feel for you. You may be having a case of HPPD judging by the after effects, you might want to look into that. And next time, try consuming them from tea, much better for the belly

damn. seems like some pretty crazy shit.

how about go see a doctor before things get even worse and next time try not consuming them at all? Oo

You can get multi-day hangovers from drinking booze if you drink enough, and if you consume a lot of shrooms the same goes. A...friend of mine... did some shrooms, and drank a ton of booze, over a long weekend and was still kind of high going in to Wednesday and Thursday of the next week, and every time...he...did exercise it like, released more toxins that was probably stored in his fat and was like, a random buzz in the middle of the day.

it's temporary, you're in the "after glow" period, and its especially noticeable since it was your first time eating them. in a day or two you will feel completely normal. potency of mushrooms varies wildly and you may have eaten a pretty large dose, especially for a first timer. i would NOT recommend half an eighth to a first timer... maybe a gram. if you still are having perceptual issues that bother you in a couple days, call a doc. however i think it's unlikely they will persist.

The effects will fade away, it's not a good idea to try shrooms in a situation like that!

i was an idiot for purchasing golden caps at a music festival (also this past bonnaroo!), didn't feel anything at all. glad you got stuff that worked at least. i'd be quite leery of tripping, much less with that dosage in the heat we had. it sounds like your problems are due mostly to irresponsible use.

Well, if you do as much as you did within in two days, especially it being your first time, I would imagine there would be after effects like that. @_@
The first time I did it, I have no idea how much I did, but I couldn't do much more than lay there with my friend and just talk about nothing but everything at the same time. (I can't explain it any other way.) I did throw up once, but it made me feel so much better and the high was insane after. But, the few days after.. Don't know if you've ever done blow or mdma, but I've noticed(more so with mdma) that as the high starts, you get tinglies/warm tinglies in your arms and joints, and they feel lighter. For the few days after the shrooms, I would get warm tinglies like.. just randomly, in my neck, in my knees, my arms. My vision was kinda fucked in the way that I kept thinking things were there that actually weren't, and my perception of distances/lengths/measurements was pretty off. I know if I was laying down, I would start feeling dizzy if I sat there long enough without sleeping. It went away after a couple days of good sleep and proper eating.
Either way, just chill for a couple days, let your body recover, and be sure to eat properly, hydrate yourself properly, all that jazz. If you do shrooms again, do it with a few friends at home, or outside somewhere super chill. You'll have a better experience, haha. It's a lot more enjoyable when there isn't a lot going on at once.

This seems pretty spot on. I feel like the mixture of the heat and my irresponsibility about using them caused the entire situation that occurred.

An eigth (of an ounce) is 3.5 grams, not 3.75. <3

Speaking of really weird and unfortunate after effects. Did you know that a really small number of people who go on cruises have their sense of balance permanently fucked? The feeling of the ground moving just doesn't go away after they get off the ship. It can last for years or even permanently.
Pretty terrible and unlucky

lol, when I read that I was like wait a minute...
Never done shrooms myself, but that sounds like one hell of a time. I've messed around with salvia a couple times since it's a much shorter duration, haven't decided if I'd be game for shrooms though. I would tend to echo some of the advice here, especially after reading that you really didn't eat or drink anything, that is never good idea when messing with any substance.
Now that I think about it, I had a similar situation occur when I messed with nutmeg (yes NUTMEG, look it up if you've never heard about it). I remember being hazy and feeling like crap for a couple days afterward, this could be something similar. Definitely seek medical help if your problems persist

In my experience heat + shrooms = badddddd
Just something to keep in mind if you plan on trying them again.

it can happen that you feel slightly "different" for some time. would just guess that heat+heavy drug use+little to eat/drink knocked you out.
still if you notice anything really wrong you should see a doctor. also be more careful with strong drugs like mushrooms. they can really blow you in a different world and are not exactly good for your system from a physical view either.
esp with no expirience test the waters before you throw yourself into a 2day trip with heavy conditions (heat/many people/no drinks&food etc).

The psychotropics that the doctor would prescribe for a halluciogen psychosis patient are far more dangerous than mushrooms. Psilocybin and psilocin are some of the safest drugs on earth. And have no physical effects at all.

No physical effects?...I beg to differ lol
But xarthaz is right that psil mushrooms are actually very safe (you can read more on erowid/Wikipedia etc...) you can get terrible trips and maybe flashbacks for a while as an absolute worst case scenario. Can't OD and completely nonaddictive too.

dude chill.if hes seriously feeling bad (not just some "weirdness" which i said is normal) he should get help. saying "lol whatever its safe yo!" in a thread like this is just irresponsible. you never know how people react , the quality of the shrooms etc. also ofcourse a heavy trip takes its toll on the body esp in such a situation.
shrooms/lsd are fun and are pretty safe when you know what youre doing. still we are talking about a strong drug and if you dont respect that you are a fool.
|
I really appreciate everyone's response, it's super comforting. Hopefully I didn't scare anyone from trying shrooms, ha. I was extremely irresponsible about using them and it was my own terrible decision making that caused what happened.
