He's not big, only a shih tzu cross. He doesn't eat much. He still manages to excrete half his weight in shit every day.
He went 7 times in the last 24 hours. Twice when I took him for a walk at the local park, twice on the back lawn. Once on the pavement near the shed.
And twice inside. One in the bathroom at the shower entrance, one on the toilet mat. He's never done that before. The entire house smells like poo now
How can such a small animal make so much waste? I dunno but it's hard to get angry with him

Maybe it's something you're feeding him?

One of my dogs left me a chocolate present when I woke up this morning.
Have you considered making a doggie door?... or are you in the city and don't have a backyard with grass?
|
That's what you get for getting a Shitzu
TEEEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH
No but seriously, start feeding him dryer food with a hint of the canned stuff. Or maybe I'm thinking of bigger dogs, I have two Bull Mastiffs.
|
And you still let him sleep on all of your clean laundry??
|
Change his diet so he doesn't poop as much.

I was hoping to see pics with shit all over the place. But anyway, try changing food.

she could have intestinal parasites, check it.
|
Might be a stomach disease if he's shitting way more than regular
|
He's eating the same food as usual, a mix of PAL (canned meat) and dry biscuits. We haven't altered his diet in about 7 years.
He isn't allowed to sleep on the laundry, both those pics are him being caught red handed
None of the shit is particularly abnormal, not diarrhoea or anything. I've seen him with that before once and it wasn't pretty

Not sure what to tell you, maybe you should ask your dog what is up with it's butt

ROFL seeing a picture of that dog is exactly what I would expect after reading the title! I have no idea why, but he looks like the dog that shits a lot lol

I am rendered speechless by your comment.

A shit-zu?
|
Might not be abnormal, but it doesn't necessarily have to be...I'd still recommend bringing him in for a check up, just to be sure.
Maybe a different food brand you've started using? Dunno...if neither of those bring up anything then maybe he's just gotta poop alot.
|
Well, if you just give him shit, all he is going to do is shit!
+ Show Spoiler +Really it can just be that he has a fast metabolism and processes food way too quick for a regular pet.

Well they are called shitzus for a reason.

Next time you want to get revenge on someone, feed your dog tacos and then send him loose in the victim's house.

Go see the vet. It might be giardia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giardia They accumulate in the intestine walls, making it impossible for the food to absorb = making them shit a lot. It should be diarrhea in the case, but it depends on the food so even if it isn't I suggest you go see the vet. This isn't something to laugh about, it might be quite serious. Our dog had the giardia when she was little and it almost killed her because she couldn't absorb any of the food and seeing your dog starve to death not being able to do anything about it isn't a great way to spend a weekend. I don't mean to scare you since you sound so convinced it's nothing, but these things tend to get worse and it's better to treat as soon as possible. Seeing the vet can't do any bad for you. Good luck.

Oh my god I had this a while back.
WHY WOULD YOU BRING BACK THE MEMORIES.
This was me: http://davidleerothruns.ytmnd.com/
Fucking shitting my brains out for 18 hours of the day. Not only that but the medication made me stomach sick too so I was puking and shitting my fucking insides out.
I felt like an anaconda trying to un-swallow an alligator.

I don't think there's anything wrong with him like giardia because his defacation has stabilised over the last few days it's back to only twice a day or so, plus all of it is fully formed and normal looking. If it happens again I will follow the advice here and take him to a vet.

He can't because our bin is in a cupboard and there is always a solid, heavy wooden chair blocking the door shut. My brother does feed him off the plate though so that could have been it.
And futsel, I just did a sweep of the back lawn for the first time in a week. This one is for you
