You're willing to take a janitor job but not a position your education (not your birthright) has offered you? Even if it means a stepping stone towards your (apparent) dream of a life in Amsterdam? You'll need a European passport and if the requirement for that is three years of employment - that should be an easy decision. Don't let your pride (or unwillingness to accept how the world works) stand in the way of your dreams. So what you can do is either 1.) Go to the Netherlands without a visa and try to find a job there. Once you found one, you have to go to the local alien authority and apply for a residence permit (Edit: Not entirely sure if it is even possibly in the Netherlands) OR 2.) you go to the Dutch embassy in London and obtain a visa which will allow you to work right away (and can be easily transformed into a residence permit once you are there). To do that, you should inform yourself about the requirements at their homepage. I would strongly recommend the second option as it will allow you to start to work right away and you can find out, if you even have the possibility to get a work permit before you go to Amsterdam. I wouldn't recommend ding anything illegal (like working without a work permit) as it can result into a ban from ALL Schengen countries (the ban is unlimited in time, unless you apply for it to be limited which still results in 1-5 years of ban).
