I received my julyzerg cheerful in the mail the other day (just one of those, not all 4)
Many thanks to LimitlessSky for mailing it to me. My walls were relatively bare before, but I really like the fact that I now own some starcraft progaming merchandise. I've wanted to buy from Kore's site for so long but have always hesitated for spending the money. One of those sexy CJ entus long sleeves could mean 2 days worth of food! Or more!
I came the realization tonight that I know (more or less) exactly what I need to do to improve my game after each loss. I've never posted asking for help because I know what I need to do in order to improve... it's just a matter of actually remembering it in game and then doing it in game.
I could never climb out of D+ in iccup because I would always have 1.5k minerals stocked up after microing a battle or muta harass. I knew what i needed to do, it's just the actual act of doing it that proved to be difficult. Still I feel i'm getting better with time.
The last random thought I want to cover are the few assholes I come across in sc2. I mean, I find assholes in every other game when I play dota (unfortunate but true), but sc2 has not devolved to that level just yet. Still, every once in a while I'll come across a player who will beat me in either a good game or he'll just decimate me... and for some reason that player decides that he should taunt, insult and ridicule me until I gg out. I haven't come across any manner CCs being built (that would be funny), instead these players just decide to sit on their big armies expand and instead of attacking and finishing me off, they'll just taunt. Of course the worst part is that I'll often think I still have a chance since I won't see just how much of the map they control or how big their army is.
I don't know what encourages players to act this way. The few times I've encountered shit talkers, I didn't respond with anything more than 'gg' (regardless of whether i had lost or won), but these people keep trying to bait some sort of response out of me. This is truly a source of enjoyment for them that I just am unable to comprehend. Having power over others (even if all that power amounts to is having the bigger starcraft 2 army at the moment) is certainly an experience that many enjoy, but it's a little depressing when I come across players who choose to use this power to ridicule their opponents.
In my most dominant victories and my most humiliating defeats, whether I fail to scout the cheese or I manage to thwart my opponents cheese, I keep to a simple "gg." Why should I ruin some guy's (or gal's) day who lives thousands of miles away from me just because they beat me. It doesn't make sense to me.
