Car problems, UK legal advice anyone?

Wtfux Northern Ireland163 Posts May 09 2011 14:09 GMT #1 I bought an Astra VXR two years ago nearly from a dealer in Lisburn, which at the time had about 58k showing on the mileage, after this time I have put about 10k on it. I had to get my car in for repairs on friday to the main vauxhall dealership in belfast because my coolant pipe bust and it was leaking out, while doing this Vauxhall noticed on their systems that my mileage had been fiddled with and should actually show about 96k miles. Anybody know what I should do or if I'm entitled to anything from previous dealer?

Vequeth United Kingdom1116 Posts May 09 2011 14:13 GMT #2 Would depend on whether he considered it 'sold as seen' I suppose. Two years ago might be problematic with making a claim I imagine. I would either start googling consumer law (there are lots of great websites on this) or talk to a solicitor.

McFly United States116 Posts May 09 2011 16:03 GMT #3 From what i've learned in basic law class is that you probably can return it, but it's probably more hassle then what its worth. After you take out the time you already drove the car and legal expenses/time it takes to do this stuff.
