I was lazy two days ago and did my workout in my room instead of going to the gym or out to the grass. Despite the face I sat on my catbus floor pad and a fuzzy blanket, I still managed to bruise my tailbone, pelvis and spine while doing my ridiculous number of sit-ups. Now my normal lounging-position on my bed that I use when playing games is quite uncomfortable! >:[
I have some good news, however! I thought my laptop's charger port was loose/broken as it has been very particular about the exact angle the cord needs to be to charge at all. However, the cord of the charger started sparking and smoking yesterday morning! While having an electrical fire on your leg can be slightly disturbing, it led me to borrowing a charger from the college's tech support... and, ta-da! It turns out it was the charger, not the port! YAYAYAYAYAY! Much, much cheaper to fix.
I still plan on buying a new laptop, but I'm such a picky bastard that I find it almost impossible to shop for one that doesn't involve me customizing it up to $1,700+. I saw an almost perfect laptop for sale at costco.com, but, of course, it was sold out and they don't plan on getting any others in stock.
I have been debating customizing this one for my use (mostly just upgrading the processor and graphics card):
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Category&v1=High performance&series_name=dv7tqe_series&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/psg/notebooks/High_performance/dv7tqe_series
Of course, I end up sitting around for 30 minutes debating with myself. "I really only need 6GB of RAM, but what if 8GB becomes more standard? Is it worth $60 to upgrade to 8GB? I would hate for my laptop to be outdated quickly, but..." etc, etc.
ANYWAY...
This morning, I also got my... sixth or seventh request to write part two of a fanfiction. One day, I had been playing too much League and was constantly getting ganked when I moved through the jungle by Warwick! I ended up getting quite frustrated! So, I started writing a story about how overpowered he was when fed and how it scared me as poor little Nidalee, when my dirty mind took over. I enjoy writing and... well, I enjoy dirty stories, too, they do it for me much better than porn does. However, having a werewolf taking advantage of a shape-shifting woman is not exactly my preference (sorry, no furries, definitely not my thing). It was really fun to write, though, so I ended up kind of finishing the scene, leaving it with a bit of a cliffhanger ending. I decided to share the story with some random people and... THEY LOVED IT! :O I got rave reviews and multiple requests to continue or write about different pairings. I eventually posted it on my deviant art and now I've gotten a request for Part 2 every other week! I think if I have some spare time today and I'm feeling in the mood, I'll finishing writing it (I started it quite a while ago).
We shall see... we shall see...

You are the hot chick, that likes to dress like starcraft units, right? I must admit - not that your everyday stories are uninteresting, but honestly I believe, that me (and most of the tl population) will appreciate much more if you post more of these dirty pics

That's the laptop I use. I use it during the summer instead of my way-OP desktop in the summer..
TL;DR I am too lazy/stupid to migrate to water cooling so my room gets to like 120 F when my desktop is powered on. Plus it's so fucking hot and humid in Virginia. (No it isn't, I know).
So I use that laptop instead of my desktop behemoth, and I am a max-settings whore...Runs SC2 at max with no problems whatsoever. They did a really good job with the design too, where the vents blow out the back instead of underneath the laptop. Pretty lap-safe, although it'll still burn a hole through your nutsack if you leave it in your lap too long. Or, I guess...your...nevermind. Moving on! :p
Little more expensive than the HP, but I have yet to find anything I dislike about the ASUS. I haven't done a whole lot of stress testing with the ASUS, I really only play EVE, SC2, and TF2 on the machine and not any of my other games (other first person shooters, lots of racing games. >_>) but stuff like LoL and other stuff I can't imagine stressing the thing out so much.
I used to write stories but I'd never post any of them anywhere. Not that I'm insecure with what I write, but I'm one of those people that is never, EVER satisfied with what I put down. So I'll be proofreading and be like "this part can be better" and end up making it longer and longer, or cutting more and more out and rewriting...it's like a never ending writing process haha.

I'll never admit that I secretly wish to write erotica, I'll never admit such a thing ever!

Dirty pics or dirty stories? >.> My blog isn't exactly for fanservice.

Hmm... that does look very good, though it's near the upper-end of my price range. I also wonder why it's processor is only 1.73GHz. I mean, admittedly, that's still awesome with quad core, but it seems a bit lower than the standard.

There's a "turbo" setting that will auto-clock it to 2.9GHz
edit: sorry, in training and supposed to be paying attention.
I think the lower CPU is to lower voltage / heat when not in use. So you can toggle it on/off when you're in a game, though I believe (don't quote me on this) it auto-toggles when you are using a program. I'll check when I get home, if you'd like.
Pricey, but it's a pretty baller laptop.
edit2: FWIW you peaked my own curiousity on the laptop power....
Crysis FPS test on 2xAA no AF pings at 27 Average FPS and 12 Minimum FPS at Maximum settings, WITHOUT using the "Overclock" on the processor over a span of mulitiple tests.
So not the greatest in the world but pretty good for a laptop! And thanks for backing me up on the laptop. I love the thing. Recommend it for everyone. What was your Grey screen of death issue? I have the very first series of the laptop, which is yours? I haven't had a problem with mine yet

I have a Asus G73H and I love it for gaming and other various activities. I had to decide on a gaming notebook back a few months ago, after a few hours of research and changing my mind I settled and on a ASUS, it seems fast still, reliable and I haven't had any issues with it except for a grey screen of death which there is a quick fix for. I haven't had to use the turbo button yet. It is also very quiet and the vents in the back make sure most of the heat goes out the back and not the bottom. (I game with it closed and hooked up to a monitor and heat build up is never an issue)
TL:DR Torenhire linked a good laptop imo.

I can't help you with the laptop thing cause I go for max battery life instead of max performance, but omg that workout thing sounds terrible...
|
Hm... well, I think I'll keep looking for a bit now that I know my laptop isn't truly dying on me. It's been a good three year run with this thing and I want to make sure any replacement I get for it will be perfect for me.

Haha, it's my own fault for having such a boney ass, I guess! Definitely not pleasurable, but I've had far more uncomfortable injuries.

When questioned in regards to getting more ram - yes, always go for more. I use 12gb and I see the need to acquire considerably more when I get my next major hardware upgrade. I do more than just gaming though and regularly max out my ram in a lot of work.
Also get rid of Superfetch.

I've had similar problems with sit-ups before, although not nearly as bad as your's sound. I would suggest switching to leg-lifts instead.
In case you've never tried them you basically just lay on your back, and while keeping your legs straight, raise them up slowly so they are perpendicular with your body. Here's a great demonstration video actually: Leg-lift video
It may not look like much, but try doing a set of 30 of these and you'll be surprised at how much you'll feel it in your abs. You should be able to avoid any bruising as well. If you have a training partner you can have them shove your legs back down while you try to prevent them from touching the ground, now that will really get you burning.
