EPTon the NA server there is a nice initiative that started after a Day9 daily on how to get into playing SC2. There is a channel called 'buddiship' where you can go when you are new to starcraft2 and don't know many peaople there.
maybe we should expand this to the EU servers aswell: if you are a new player on the EU server and you don't know alot of SCII players, or if you're just searching for practice matches and team games just join the buddiship channel and you will find people like you
