For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
The Abbott went on to say that as these young people went out into the world, they should be conscious, every day, of what they as individuals are doing to serve, or better the world around them, whether that be in their neighborhood, parish, town, school, or whatever. I found this relevant to the whole idea of "making esports happen", but that phrase is so cliche :p! I prefer to think of it as just being helping esports.
Again, I'm neither a religious fanatic nor am I trying to... preach, but you definitely don't need to be Christian or Catholic to understand this message and how it applies to this community. Always know how you can help your community and then go about doing it!
One thing I'm realizing is that this blog is very vague. I haven't actually done anything, which reminds me of a certain xkcd comic that I can't be bothered to look up (the irony!). But this sermon has motivated me to possibly do something in the future, but I don't know if that be helping esports somehow, running for student council, or volunteering to work at a soup kitchen!
I hope I've made someone somewhere decide to do something, and that I'll do the same. Action is probably the hard part.
