I guess I'm probably an "avid" player already, seeing how much I watch and talk about Sc2.
Pre-reset I was somewhere in the 3.5k Master area as a Zerg, I'm sitting at about 350 now.
Why the blog post?
Up until soon, I've only been able to actually play maybe 15 games a week because my laptop is awful and I need to steal my girlfriend's, who is busy with school. My order from NCIX for a new computer to game on has been processed, and I'll be receiving it in a week or two.
What does it all mean!?
I'll finally be able to play as much as I want to, which is probably 5ish hours a day. Without ever being able to play or practice for more than short bursts at a time, I really don't have any clear idea of what potential I have or how good I can be.
Here's hoping I can unlock some hidden potential and break into GM league with enough time to actually play the game
Do you guys have any comments/advice on moving up the Master ladder? How huge of a difference in skill level is it as you get out of the "2%" and up into the top 200? Anybody think I can/can't do it?

Recently i have been practicing at a set time for a set amount of time each day, this has helped me move up the ladder a decent amount, nothing crazy but I moved up more than before I started doing this.

I think the extra time playing will help, however being a grand master imo does not just take near to perfect macro, mechanics and micro, but also talent and creativity to do things that gives you the edge in the game. Also at that level even one little mistake in macro or micro can cost you the game as you probably know.
I do not think anyone can answer you on your question: "Anybody think I can/can't do it?" We have not seen you play, or at least i have not. That being said GL and HF. Hope you do make it, just realize its going to be hard work to get there, and even harder to stay up there.
Also, even high diamonds and master can have mentors/coaches to help them get that edge.
