Natasha Khan
First got introduced to this UK bombshell through a cover she did of Cat Power. Really amazing and sometimes odd arrangements of music she can think of. The video here is one entitled "What's a girl to do" which is an awesome song, but "Daniel" seems to be a favorite for some.

Chan Marshall
Got introduced to this one through a scene in V for Vendetta. The song featured a soft piano and sharp lyrics. I've gone backwards through her music, chronologically, and have ended up on her more raw stuff (which I find to be badass). If you haven't heard her music before, I envy you, because I would give a lot of things to discover her again. Here's a song from her younger self entitled "Rockets."

Annie Clark
Discovered this girl last night and I'm a bit lovestruck still. She's been in some other bands over the years such as Polyphonic Spree and breaking out into her own role in a band named St. Vincent. She is a beast on the guitar and hopefully keeps rocking out the crazy music. The first video is a live performance cover of "Dig a pony." The second video is her own work and it's quirky as hell.

Bukola Elemide
She's the heart and soul of Asa. Born in France and lived in Nigeria she's got a fire in her and it's fucking hot. Good music, good style... I love this woman. The video seems to have to songs: First song "Jailer" second song "Fire on the mountain"

Janis Joplin
Amazing and important piece of the 60's. If you ever watch those pop shows looking for the next big things, there's always a girl saying she wants to be Joplin. My favorite performance of hers entitled "Summertime"

Would add more to this but I'm in a crunch at the moment. I hope some of you discover one or two artists from this blog.
