A few months ago there was a guy who bought a new SC2 account, lost all of his placement matches on purpose and then tried getting back to the top league as quickly as possible, whilst streaming it.

I've tried searching, but I cannot find it at all, and I'd like to see it again. It was archived on ustream I believe.

Not sure it that is what you're looking for, but ROOTDestiny tried to get into diamond by using mass queens, to showcase, that it only requires good mechanics to get there. The VODs are uploaded to his youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/remembertomorrow0 (search for mass queen).

I am pretty sure the thing you are looking for was done by ccLizzuma. However, I am not sure they recorded the event so there might not be video of it. Here is the thread:
