I would just like to congratulate Artosis on starting out his NASL run with a bang. As you have probably seen HERE the official NASL website clearly lists Artosis in second place!
Now that all you nay-sayers have been proven wrong, feel free to bow at his feet.
I just thought we should celebrate what might be his highest rank all season! Artosis fighting!!
All kidding aside I look forward to seeing Artosis play. A lot of people (including pros) have laughed about his qualification for NASL but personally I think people should wait and see. While I agree that Artosis would be hard-pressed to win an MLG event or GSL season I think he has an excellent chance of winning within the NASL format. With time to prepare for specific maps/matches he will have an opportunity to exploit his experience and excellent game knowledge. Your thoughts?
Edit: fixed links 2nd Edit: The fun has ended, now that games have been played the players are now ranked based on win/loss. The link still shows the players alphabetically but... Artosis fighting!!!!

you can't argue with statistics, artosis for the win. Now if only he wasn't a traitor protoss

Quote from Xeris in the THREAD dedicated to why they picked players. "Overall, we chose 3-4 players (Artosis, Grubby, MoMaN) who were designated as “fan favorites” and 3-4 players (ViBe, CrunCher, DarkforcE) who may be considered “underdogs.” The rest of the players were chosen based on their results and skill level. "
He isn't expected to do great. But if he does its amazing. With that said is this blogworthy IDK! Artosis Hwaiting!

Ace is doing even better! he's gonna be my new hero!

Top 3 all protoss? Imbalanced! :D

Artosis plays PROTOSS? LOL I have never heard a more ironic thing in my life. It would be like having Sean Hannity vote democrat.
|
I really hope he does well, but i'm kinda worried that the lag from korea will hurt his play too much. The TSL is less exciting because it hyped up all the top korean players, then tied their hands with lag, would be a shame if the same happened with Artosis.
|
Why are people badmouthing Artosis so much? Sure he doesn't get to play as much cause, you know, he has a job and everything...but he's going to be a strategy master (as long as he keeps his head straight in game), he practices on the Korean ladder, and he has already nearly qualified for Code A multiple times. I'm not saying he's going to take it down, but with good game-planning (which he surely will have) he's going to be a force to be reckoned with.

hopefully with the games being casted using replays the lag will be minimized- no extra observers and such. I worry about this too... I wish it listed the player's ping on the APM tab in replays so at least the spectators would know if lag is affecting the game.

1. They are cast live, not from replays. 2. Read Jinro's thread on lag before jumping on the hater bandwagon and derailing more threads. 3. Judging from Artosis' youtube video's, he is already really good at P so I think he'll be a contender along with Grubby!
|
From official NASL thread: Question: Will the games be casted from replays?
Answer: Games will NOT be cast from replays. The games will be cast AS they are being played, they just won't be STREAMED live... after the cast, the videos will be sent to production, and after editing they will be broadcast in the evenings.
- Backpack is correct, the broadcast method confused my small brain :-P
As for the "lag hater bandwagon" I really just want to show the ping so Blizzard has to constantly display the idiocy of segregated servers. I do agree with the argument that you can practice to adjust to the lag (and a professional should be ready and willing to go to these lengths)

It's clear that Artosis is where he belongs. How dare any of you question his decision to switch to Protoss. A smart man knows which race is the most powerful at the moment.
|
I too am very keen to see Artosis play. I think everyone is very well aware of how busy he is these days, but he certainly sounds like despite his hectic schedule he plans to give it his best shot.
Of course I wish he was still with the swarm but anyway.
|
What are you talking about,he lost to Sheth
|
Hence second, not first place!
Artosis definitely has the knowledge to be great, he just needs to catch up on his practice. I think he will be a strong contender.

Too late, the glory has lapsed :-( if I weren't an idiot I would have saved a screenshot of the standings on the day I made the post
FOR ANYBODY WHO SEES THIS NOW (TOO LATE):
Artosis was ranked 2nd before day 1 because the players were listed alphabetically. lolomg right? ;-)

Cause he got in without being particularly proven at all, ahead of people like Mondragon who were in the same position. So people are entitled to their opinion regardless of OMG BUT ITS ARTOSIS

Any idea where we can fidn the replays of the NASL games?
I want to watch the artosis ones but really dont want to have to spen 5 hours waiting ... it was hard enough last night at 1am with the stream hilarity.
|
WOW just watched Artosis get owned by Fenix.... definitely not dominating the NASL
|
everyone just has to remember...even though he may not dominate the NASL, he does dominate our hearts!!

Yeah poor Artosis has been #50 out of 50 players in the NASL.
I don't buy the whole "its all cause of lag" excuse. If you watch the other koreans NASL games they don't lose because of mismicro, they lose because they make bad decisions. I think it's more likely that the early schedule for them hurts their gameplay more than the lag. I've watched plenty of streamers play on the KR ladder from NA, and although the lag is noticeable it's never more than 0.5 sec. I've never seen a streamer lose an NA-to-KR game purely because of lag. People just like to make excuses.
+ Show Spoiler +Like tonight in his first game, Artosis decides to not chronoboost, to not defend against drops vs a one base terran, and then he powers all his production facilities with one pylon. Fenix drops and kills said pylon. GG yo =)
And then in second game Artosis actually gained an early advantage with some nice stalker micro (so much for lag lol), but then he threw it away by not following up with any pressure, letting Fenix take 5 bases to his 2. And then he let his entire probe line get nuked (literally) I mean, come on. =)
All ribbing aside, I hope he does better. He certainly looked better in the GSL qualification games that Torch casted.
|
He struggles on the ladder ffs let alone a tournament, it's not lag at all.
|
MC is 0-3 in NASL, just sayin......
|
So a tip for aspiring players, call yourselves Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and you'll autowin NASL.
|
Just want to remind people that the NASL didn't force people from Korea to play it. They choose to apply knowing they might lag.

Artosis, you may not be dominating the league but PLEASE at least dominate Vibe- or you won't make season 2!
