Well. Guess I will have to say a bit about myself first, but then again, what does it matter when the only thing that count is that I have a computer that can run Starcraft 2!
The first time I saw Starcraft it was at a LAN event. I was wandering around looking at people gaming, and then I saw 4 dudes duking it out with this game I had not seen before. I was immediately hooked - and from there on I soon realized how big a game it was. This was about 3 years ago. Some time after a friend of mine rushed to see me ind school, he wanted to show me something - it was Starcraft 2! It was like a great roller coaster ride that went on an extended ten times as big track! (even though I am afraid of roller coasters... but I think you get the picture ) In short - I was totally hyped for Starcraft 2 to be released!
Like many other enthusiasts I showed up at the midnight launch (luckily for me I also got hands on midnight launch Starcraft 2 t-shirt ! :D
Now was the time. For quite some time I had been waiting and finally the wait was over. I opened the box and started the installation. I normally do not like waiting, but this was just too epic to be rushed, I even re-read the Starcraft 1 storyline so that I was completely up-to-date with the intro story to Starcraft 2. All in all, I was just as exited as every other Starcraft lover out there! :D After the installation I played through the campaign, or some of it at least. I just wanted to get going with the laddering, not knowing anything about Protoss, besides from the small bit i remembered from day9 and husky's vods on youtube and blip. I knew nothing (not even how to 4 gate ). I clearly remember my first match ever. Dessert Oasis and Void Rays... Got totally pwnd! And if I remember correctly, I had a couple of thousands in the bank after the first voids hit my mineral line. Multitasking while being attacked was an impossible skill back then....
After 3 practice matches it was time, the real deal! The Ladder!
+ Show Spoiler +
I failed.... Macro was off, micro was terrible, unit mixture did not exist - only zealots and stalkers - and ALWAYS two gate openings, because what if someone 6-pool'ed me!!!
That night i stayed up all night varying between laddering and playing the campaign. Played about 30 matches from 00.30 to about six in the morning, lost twenty games, maybe more
As you might already have guessed I ended up in Bronze ^^
