Let me just lay down my story to get started..
On July 27, 2010, I bought Starcraft 2. This was an interesting time for me, because I had never played the original or the expansion, and the first time I had played SC2 was for about 3 matches in the beta.
This being my first real competitive RTS (I played the Warcraft 3 campaign and footmen frenzy, that was about it) I hopped into my learner matches and played a little. I decided I wanted to actually do my 5 real placements, and did that. At the time, I was playing Protoss. I did my 5 matches and got placed in silver. After that I played about 5 more matches, and put the game down until about a week ago.
Last week, I realised what I have been missing by putting SC2 down for all this time. Any skill I had aquired in the few weeks I played at launch had been lost, and I also have been missing out on an AWESOME gameplay and community experience.
When coming back, I decided I wanted to play Zerg and get away from Protoss. I did my season 2 placement match, and got put into bronze. Ever since I have been playing some matches, and have only aquired 5 wins.
All in all I guess this blog will come down to suggestions for me. I have recently lost to stupid things such as mass marines, mass void rays, and cloaked banshees just killing all my workers. I guess I just expect too much out of myself, as I came to the realization that I can't become a SC2 pro in the course of probably 5 days worth of played time total in the game.
I have recently started watching Day9, which is where I got the idea to make a blog of my own, and he has been EXTREMELY helpful to me.
I guess what this all boils down to is me admitting my interest has been sparked, and I have a feeling it is here to stay. I wanted to put this blog out there just for people to give me suggestions on how to improve, because I would LOVE to work my way up the ladder, and get even more into this game. I understand I need to put a lot of work in to get out of bronze and work my way up, and I am fully prepared to do that.
Heck, as of right now I even have a fair amount of fun when I lose, because I can look at my replays and find out what I can improve on.
Time to be done yammering on for now, I leave this open for people to give me opinions on things, and to ask, should I stick with Zerg even though I am a newish player? Also, what is a good standard build for me to refine and get better with?
Thanks, and I am glad to be able to have a blog on a site like this.
