Besides gaming, one of the things that I like to do is skateboard. So if you TLers do the same, :D

I'm terrible, of course, but I have the basics down. Ollies, kickflips/heelflips, varials, shov-its, tre flips, front and backside 180 ollies and 2-3 stairs as well as boardslides and the occasional 50-50.

As anyone involved in the sport will tell you, size matters. The width of a skateboard deck can be anywhere from 7 1/2 inches to 8 inches and wider, which plays a role on how the board flips and its controllability.

But as I bought a new deck today, I was dismayed to find that most of the boards in the shop were 7.8 inches or wider. In today's skateboarding world, we've moved to wider and wider boards.

Why is it that we like riding bigger wood now?

*lets out a snort of laughter*

I know you probably wanted more attention with a thread title like that, and it's the only reason I came here.

Bigger wood means a bigger package.......

Anyways, I used to skateboard about four years ago, but I stopped because or other stuff that had gotten in the way. I think the size of the board really depends on the person. I like riding 7.5's and always have... Also I know that the wider they are, the better they are for skatepark wise such as ramps and and half pipes.

i dont know dude it sounds like you skate street. Wider boards at least in my experience arent better for street. I used to skate with world industries decks when i started and they were solid and did the job but were generaly wider.

When i switched over to element street decks which were narrower i had a lot more pop, i could land flat double heelflips and fakie varial flips easily.

So sounds to me like you just made this thread for the purpose of getting attention.

It's the skateboard industry trying to appeal to casuals!

But seriously, that sucks. Maybe you could try to order one online, or something?
