By now everyone should know the roller-coaster ride that was MLG. From stream issues to lag at the event to insane downtime. It had it all. TL saw two of it's largest ever threads created while we only witnessed a handful of games. I stayed awake until 4am on Saturday morning just to try witness some games but saw none. However in the middle of this train wreck there was a man, a man that kept sanity intact and went on for hours at a time talking about completely nonsense. This man was DJWheat.

Honestly I don't understand how he managed to keep his composure and fill the empty space for so long. He obviously had the help of Day9 and JP but I don't think either of them would have managed if it wasn't for djWheat. He did an absolutely amazing job and really hasn't got the credit he deserves.

Thanks djWheat for keeping me going throughout the early mornings. I'm sure there are many more out there that appreciate your hard work and professionalism

I was thinking maybe we could get a whole bunch of positive comments and send a mail to djWheat

I loved the over all casting at the tournament and without them i'm sure the number of people that gave up on the stream would be 10x higher
Don't think. Dance!

djWheat/Day[9] were great. New casting archon please, enjoyed MLG despite constantly needing to restart the stream and frequently not actually having anything on it because of the two of them.

Agreed, Day9 and Wheat did an amazing job. Don;t know how they maintained that much energy during hours of downtime and frustration with technical difficultues.

Also, does any1 recall last MLG finals? Bnet crashed and created like an hour of downtime. day9 and DJ salvaged it again.

MLG could not have had a more professional caster in my opinion. Very fortunate for them

DayWheat was a really good archon, I agree

They made the hours of empty space and time almost bearable to sit through!

Does anyone know if they'll be at MLG Colombus?

Wheat and Day9 completely saved MLG for SC2 fans, and I think they know it. I still can't wait till SotG and hear the whole story of it.

DJWheat has grown on me since I first watched games he casted, now I totaly love him. Great great work over the weekend from him, When the first problems happened I would of turned off the stream right away if it was not for Wheat.

Great work by DJWheat/Day9 and JP :D

djWheat one of the most hardest working people in e-sports, the guy does so much and still works a full-time job and has a family to support. Mad baller, crazy amounts of respect for that guy. I look forward to seeing him at more events in the SC2 world 8)

I have an enormous amount of respect for djWheat for reasons totally unrelated to sc/sc2.

He and his crew did the first and one of the highest quality fighting game tournament streams in early 2009, at an event called Devastation. They kept it running so perfectly that it generated a ridiculous amount of sudden viewers and an immediate demand for every even remotely noteworthy fighting game tourney to stream.

Even without having the fighter equivalent of someone like Day[9] at this event with him, he absolutely set the bar for how fighter tournaments would be run in the future, how they'd be streamed, and how they'd be casted.

At the time I thought it was really cool. Looking back and realizing how many amazing majors the fighting game scene has had, and how the streaming has upped our national tourney (Evolution) from being a 200 man tournament to a 2000 man tournament, djWheat undeniably created something incredible for the community.

If we ever meet up, Mr. Graham, dinner's on me 8]

Wheat doesn't get enough praise, and I see people hating on him in IRC channels and the like for reasons such as "it's not tasteless" and bull, it's such horse****. Wheat does such an amazing job at these events and I'd just like to reiterate what Trumpet wrote a few posts up. He brings such professionalism and passion to these events that easily overwrite and lack of knowledge people claim he has. Personally, when I see that Wheat is casting an event/match I tune in regardless of who is playing, that guy brings it, hard.

Even though I didn't watch MLG, djWheat deserves appreciation regardless. Always a professional and hilarious caster who really enjoys the gaming scene.

Same here - what he does for Esports is just astounding - he really pours his heart and soul into it.

Not to mention, he is a complete beast at gaming events - this guy should have a medal of nerd-honor or something.
