It's incredibly annoying to have a commercial cut the caster off mid-sentence and then return mid-sentence after the commercial is over. What the fuck, streamers? If you want people to watch your commercials, how about not talking about the games when you choose to show one? Seriously fucking gcpl did it after EVERY SINGLE GAME, every time while the commentators were discussing the previous game, it would have been nice if they told us, "hey we'll be right back after a commercial", as I can mute the ad anyway, but they just kept on talking while it was going on.

I'm watching the Team Liquid Open and they're are 50,000 viewers and I was just curious how much these guys banked every time they show a commercial if its based on user count. Well, for justintv producers its about $2 per 500 people watching the ~30 second commercial. (would rather not quote my source just incase it would get them in trouble) And they do need to watch it, if the ad is blocked they get no revenue from it. Im not sure what the rates are for ustream and youtube though, thats where the TSL has been hosted.

This Internet attitude of "I want it all now for free" is what drives Subscription based services which I'm sure you'd agree not many of us will be willing or able to fork out for. If you use Ad Block then fine, just know that if that streamer you love stops providing content it's probably because it is no longer financially viable and that people like you are responsible.

I don't mind the ads, and it is ridiculous that people are complaining. Its the most simple form of supply and demand. In this case, ads are like the price one pays for a product. If the price increases, demand will go down. In the most simple of terms. Thus, purely economically speaking, a streamer will continue to show more ads because even if he loses a couple of viewers, he will get more revenue despite the loss of viewers. he will only stop, once one more add will result in a loss of revenue, that is when too many viewers leave. Streamers are "competing" for viewers, if one streamer shows to many ads, and I find it bothers me I just switch. If one streamer looses 2k viewers, he will probably show less ads Although, I admit, I'd even mind them less if there was a wider variety of them, the same add for the 50th time may get annoying. #2 Sometimes I get ads, sometimes I don't. I don't have an ad-block any of the sort.. I really don't know why. #3 Saying the ads don't support esports is honestly one of the dumbest things I have heard in avery long time! If you support the player you support esport. if people are not able to live of esport, they will have to stop playing. If ads help the player/streamer to support himself as a professional player, that does help esport, since more people will be able to support themselves. You should go to the doctors and have yourself checked for retardations...

The new ads these days, like Age of Empires, is maddeningly loud (~10x) whenever they suddenly pop up, and it hurts my ears since I use earbuds. Please don't tell me to adjust my systems volume; I know, but I simply cannot due to my unique sound setup (I have to lower systems volume to ~5% and video player volume to ~ 5%). I simply want to lower the volume of those ads, but there is no button! The regular sound button on the bottom bar is unresponsive when these ads turn on. If I can find a way, then I'll stop resorting to adblock. I absolutely don't mind ads and the only sites I block are justin.tv and twitch.tv, and that is ONLY because of the unbearably loud ads. Some ads like Expedia have the button on the lower right hand corner, thank god. Unfortunately, muting it is not persistent, so it is still loud when the ad pops up. I tried adblock, but that disables the stream entirely.
