So according to the Starcraft lore, it says clearly that after global warming destroys the planet by 2012, the very few humans who do survive must flee this post-apocalyptic world and settle on Tarsonis, but not before stripping other worlds in the universe completely dry of their resources along the way. Thus we get Terrans: humans who have evolved to survive the harsh rigors of intergalactic space travel and existence.
The Protoss, on the other hand, are a civilization spanning millions of years in a faraway galaxy. They are a highly technologically driven species, capable of warping the fabric of space and time and using psionic power. Now we know that a few select terrans are endowed with psionic prowess, such as ghosts (ie Kerrigan), but terrans are lagging in terms of technology. Psionic power is the next logical step for the terran race.
Now I thought, why not fuse the starcraft idea of psionic/photon/warping technology of the protoss with the dragonballz idea of kai energy, an eastern philosoophical thought stemming from buddhism, hinduism, and taoism.
The result would be psionic/photon/warping/kai energy(kamehameha) to form an ultimate Spirit Bomb with the power of psionic energy. Remember how Frieza blew up planet Namek with his Spirit Bomb? Maybe the combined power of thhis new and improved kai spirit bomb with psionic power could destroy entire galaxies of entire universes?

I thought prison ships crashed on Tarsonis and that was the origin of the Confederacy. Where did you read the part about global warming?

Hmmm... it fights like a Colossus lol. Idra and Artosis would have a field day with Goku.
Anyways, I sometimes wish the Starcraft BW modding scene was bigger, though it seems that the engine is a bit difficult to work with compared to say Command and Conquer games.

the instruction manual that came with the original game had a lot more lore information than the game itself did

You are right. From the anime, I think only Goku and King Kai can use the Spirit Bomb. Frieza used the destructo disc against Goku.

Clearly the kai energy is a thing of the past. I think that ended when King Kai announced on his home planet when .. who was it... I think krillin or tien.. one of those guys asked King Kai, why doesn't goku just use kai energy! And King Kai sadly responded - he is, he has been this whole time...
Kai energy was to beat Vegeta and Nappa if you can correctly recall. Obviously the true power is SSJ... And fusion power is the true climax of all power. If only terran can somehow figure out how to fuse two thors... their power would grow exponentially... fusssiooonnnn daaancceee
Of course, there is always the power of the dragon balls, and once absorbed you get the power of the dragon. I remember in GT Goku and Vegeta had to fusion at SSJ4 to beat that one guy - I forget his name...
But kai energy? tut tut, we are going against protoss here
Edit: this has inspired me to put my sc2 background dragon ball z related. I think it's going to look tiiigghhtt. If anyone has mad photoshop skills, a picture of ssj goku with the medic outfit would give me a violent erection.

Newb, it was NOT 2012, there was a bunch of implants and genetic mutations going on and similar to the australia situation every criminal/mutation etc were send all to new planets. They were the rejects. The UED from BW are the "normal humans".
