Little bit of bg info.
I am a 1700 diamond zerg facing against 2500~s.
Recently I have been having a lot of trouble in my match ups and have been feeling really dissatisfied in my games. I have now decided that I would like to try out the other races.
For some reason my mechanics as other races just BLOOOOOW, I can barely beat silver level players as the other races, so I have come to the decision that I am going to derank and re-rank as each race option.
Now TL, comes the decision.
Which do I choose?

No offense, but this seems like a rather idiotic poll. You're the one going to have to choose in the end.
Things like "oh yeah sentries are cool go for protoss" would be absolutely useless advice, since it hardly matters what anyone else likes to play but you ~,~
Do you like -insert terran stuff-? Then go play Terran
Do you like -insert protoss stuff-? Then go play Protoss
It kinda feels as if you just made a poll asking whether to sleep with men or women.

Having never played this two races at anything above a silver level I have no idea what to expect. I understand my mind set and what I have to expect from a player as a zerg, but I happen to have no knowledge of the inner workings of these two races; that is the purpose of this poll.
I would like peoples opinions on this subject as other people would have more knowledge of these races.
Also, I am very indecisive.

So, by having people vote T or P you suddenly gain knowledge of the inner workings of these two races?
I still don't really see what you're getting at, you want people to explain to you the "feel" of the races? Do you want people to explain build orders and timings to you?
Do you expect people to go "high templar can demolish entire armies in no-time! You should totally play protoss!"?
You don't know which race to play so you want TL'ers to choose for you because, nobody knows you any better than... TL'ers? :S
:Edit: I don't mean to troll your thread or anything, but choosing a race is basicly personal opinion, which is why this doesn't make a lot of sense to me, asking other people for your opinion.

Mechanics=/=units being awesome.
Also, I have stated before that I am indecisive. I really could care less which way this goes, I just want it to go one way. It isn't a matter of knowing me, it is a matter of knowing the races.
edit: for example, by stating something as simple as "I like terran because it feels really easy to operate in the mid game" people give me something to consider when choosing that race.

I think you should provide a lot more information as to what you like/don't like about T/P so people can actually base their recommendation to you on something more than their own opinion.
Because right now, I'm the only one that replied and I haven't even voted.
I'm afraid a bunch of opinions aren't really going to help you in your choice, I would recommend watching some VoDs/play against the AI perhaps to get an idea of how the races function and all that good jazz.

Well, instead of just voting I've taken some time to think through exactly why I play Terran and why I like it better than Protoss. I'm just a 1k diamond noob, though, so I probably won't have all the smartest things to say but at least I'll give it a go =)
The first and most important thing is the micro. Marine micro in particular. Dropping in a zerg's main or expo, trying to deal as much damage as possible before the zerglings/muta/blings come running to the rescue, is quite the treat - especially when being able to take down the expansion in the last split second. In battles, I also love having to split up the units far enough to prevent getting instantly killed by the blings, and not so far that most of my units stand in a corner waiting to die, rather than shooting at stuff 
Secondly, drops. I just LOVE the terran drops. It's a somewhat small thing which have saved my ass so many times I have lost count. Be it taking out an expo I wouldn't have reached without the drop, or killing off tech in time for me to get back into the game. It's such a potent weapon and I can't wait to get skilled enough to use them properly.
Third, I'd have to say Ghosts. Not because I use them so much, but because I love the possibilities they pose. There's nukes, snipe, emp and the nice little cloak I'm planning on using better. At least against banelings without an overseer close by, so I'll just run in with the Ghost cloaked and uncloak hoping to make as many blings detonate as possible. Then just to send in the attack with less zerg resistance.
Fourth, the Terran stalemate. Yes, you head me right ^^ I love it when there's a stalemate and the opponent doesn't get BattleCruisers. So when I start sniping his tanks, he'll start making counters when it's already too late. The TvT overall is a fun match up, and I can't imagine PvP being half as fun!
Lastly, how safe I feel playing Terran. I rarely die early on, and if I do it's just because of plain bad scouting or reaction time/reacting with the wrong counter. Blingbust, roach rush, 4 gate - they're all fine enough to fend off with a safe build (at least on my level).
The worst part about being a terran, though, are all the whiners. If you go for terran, be prepared for a crap ton of angry nerds when you beat them and few ggs
So yeah, that's why I play and love Terran =)

Choose your own race, this is just silly. Go try out both races and get a feel for them, there's no one race that's awesomest or has the best units or is the most fun to play for everyone. You're also not going to be a good player because of some race's mechanics, so you might as well find out which one you like best.
TL;DR
Indecisive schmindecisive, just pick one or pick both.

The last point is my real "iwannafuckingplayterran" point. Being able to survive is kind of my reason for having the option for terran vs just going straight to p.

Can any other race build a mothership? I didn't think so. Go with P, plenty of really fun tech paths to go down in every matchup

Haha, I was just saying that because then there would be 1 less protoss for me to PvP against. In all honesty, I find protoss a really fun race to play, you can get up to all crazy shenanigans (e.g. phoenixes in pvz can be really fun). That's just my opinion though, go for the one you will have fun with :D
