Hah, I've gathered you're not a fan of flying. Is it anything in particular? For me, I think I like traveling because I don't do it frequently. I can see not liking it much if you have to do it a lot. I recently went to Texas, which was my first actual vacation in almost six years, and I loved it, but like I said, I don't travel much so...yeah. At least try to enjoy your travels. ^_^

Even if he forgot to turn it off and the real meter should be around 40 it was his mistake so you only have to pay for what's on the meter. But then to magically add 15 dollars lol. I'm all for immigrants coming to America to start a new life but seriously people need to choose more carefully on who they hire. Yeah, it was tough. I initially felt bad for the guy. And then he started failing to spell, driving like a retard, etc. He's prolly dirt poor with immigrant parents or an immigrant himself... must be hard for him... be understanding... you grew up in rich white suburbia... he didn't... etc etc... And then he quite blatantly tries to charge me too much... inner rage buildingggggg..... fffffffuuuuuuuu etc etc

Go to busy airport, buy myself a nice coffee, sit at the terminal on my laptop, people watch, etc. Then the take-off is exciting, the view from the plane is awesome, etc. Lately though I've made like 7 or 8 flights in the last month, usually carrying way too much luggage with me. Worry about my bags like opening on the plane, all my shit strewn on the runway, (stupid fear, but i worry). Crowded airport, annoying ass little kid banging his toy on the wall very loudly while his parents ignore it, lack of sleep, waiting between flights, taxis, airports, loud, too meny people,a apsfdiuasdfoashdfashdf *rage* I don't want to fly again for a loonnnggg time.

We had a guy who literally drove people around not knowing where he was heading. No GPS, weak map skills. It's funny but most people pay even when it's clearly a drivers fuckup and the trip turns out to be 15$ more than it should. On the other hand you will get customers that want their exact change back, like 30 cents etc. You get people that deal drugs out of a cab, you get some horny older women that hit on you at 2 am while you are driving them home, frustrated since nobody picked them up at the bar. You get to smoke joints with random strangers while you drive, you get invited to house parties. It's crazy. Your driver was apparently new, shouldn't happen too often. Not sure why he tried to rip you off, maybe he thought he would get in trouble for not turning the meter on in time.

Reminds me of a crappy cab experience, where I give the guy my address and he just chooses the first city on the list on his GPS and it ended up being the wrong city. Was in the middle of california so I had NO freaking clue where I was and we're like lalalalalala.. *scrrrrch* okay I can't find this, you sure this here? Give him the address again and he goes AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY and we have to take this epic journey across central california to get to my destination, we ended up passing the airport again on the way to where I was headed. Guy charged me out the nose but I paid because it was an all-company paid expense trip so I didn't give a shit haha. Edit: @ news, one of my current co-workers drove a cab in New York for a while, god he has some AWESOME stories. Hahahaha.

Driver can call the office and ask about the fare. It doesn't matter what the meter says at that point since he made a mistake. If a dispatcher tells him it's 40$ then it is 40$. He was probably afraid of getting fired on his first day and decided not to call. I'd never want to drive in a city, only did some part-time on Cape. Was enough to not want any of that intensity. At least Cape was relatively safe, only complete nut jobs would want to do that in NYC or even Boston.

"Here's a helpful PDF from the Nevada Taxicab Authority with some facts about taking a taxi in Las Vegas. It also has the phone number for the Nevada Taxicab Authority. Suggest you have it in your phone if you go to Las Vegas. If you ever get longhauled (see PDF), like via the airport tunnel on the way to a casino on the Strip, then you can pretty much get out of paying the fare altogether if you threaten to report the cabbie, because that's a crime. If they think you're bluffing, well... you're not. They'll get fined, and perhaps fired, if that happens. Just be sure to thank them for the free ride. If they try the change move, you can always make them wait, with the meter off, while you get change. Every employee working the front door area of a casino has a pocket full of tips, so any one of them can make change. You could even give them the cabbie's tip for making change for you. For what it's worth, though, 90% of the cabbies in Las Vegas are poker degenerates, so all of that money they con people out of ends up back with us anyway. " Basically, be prepared if you expect to take a taxi and you are worried about being scammed 10-15 bucks. Find the number for the state(or country) taxicab authority, and prepare to threaten or call them if you feel ripped off.

Wow. That's a lot of traveling. When I traveled in Texas, I thought it was great. I got to the airport early, found a bar, had a couple of beers, and I had a pizza before my flight. I haven't flown in years, so the flights were awesome. On the way back, I grabbed a burger and a couple beers before my flight out, then got delayed in Baltimore...so I found a bar. xD Problem solved. I mean, traveling is fun, but when you do it that much it starts to suck, lol.

From his behavior I think he was just incredibly dumb, but it's still possible he was just really really confused. Eep... Anyway we'll find out tomorrow I guess. I'll be taking a taxi back to the airport, and if the fare ends up being about 40, then I'll feel bad. If it comes out to 25 again, I'll know the guy was full of shit.
