+ Show Spoiler +Well, with Jinro having lost to MarineKingPrime, the finals are set to be MarineKingPrime vs. MVP. Before this, MarineKingPrime has only lost to the person who would eventually go on to become the GSL Champion (Nestea and MC). If MarineKingPrime loses against MVP, he will have continued his Silver Surfer streak, losing only to the champion. If he wins however and finally becomes a champion, he will have shed his Silver Surfer status, and at the same time, be in the process of passing on his Silver Surfer status to Jinro, who will also have only lost to the Champs if MKP wins. I just think it'd be interesting to think about, and that if MKP wins, maybe Jinro will copy MKP's build and transition from Silver Surfer into champion as well. Two losses against the champion transitioning into a 1st Place finish. Sounds like a solid build to me.
Edit: I'm modifying the definitions of "Silver Surfer" to suit the purposes of my Build Transition joke.

i thought you could only be a silver surfer if you got 2nd place repeatedly, cuz a lot of ppl lose to the winners early on

He also took 3rd place in the gainward tourney, losing to eventual winner MVP. It's obviously not as big a deal as GSL, but still something to add to his 'achievements.' Still, I won't feel too bad if he loses to MVP. MKP is still only 17. As long as he continues to improve I'm confident he'll get his share of tournament wins before it's all said and done.

You can only be considered a Silver Surfer if you've come 2nd as many times as [NC]Yellow has. Way too early to consider anyone a silver surfer in SC2. Only MKP has even reached multiple GSL finals.

I think MVP's got this, but i already know MVP is gonna go tank style where MKP is gonna go bio style and we'll see more base trading which I find ridiculous and utterly stupid, but at least it's exciting, should be 2nd most exciting gsl finals (gsl 2 finals was the most epic, imo).

On topic, I remember Hwasin going on a similar streak like that in 2007-2008, losing only to the eventual champ in MSL and losing only to former champ in OSL.
I don't remember it clearly so don't hold me to my word

I just think getting silver makes you a silver surfer not losing to the eventual winner.

Dude, I'd say three silvers count as silver surfer.
He already has one GSL silver and one All Star special event silver (with major prize money).
Part of Kong's legacy was winning special events while failing major tournaments. However that only applied to Kong, not to Stork, Jangbi and Fantasy.
Fantasy is considered silver surfer for two back to back OSL silver and Jangbi has two MSL silvers plus GOM silver.
I'd say two GSL silver + one major special event silver would be sufficient to claim the title.
Ironic considering MKP was originally known as Boxer, the namesake of the one who is responsible for Kong's legacy.

Even if marineking makes 2nd again he is still the #1 player on prime, 2 second places is like 42k USD. Not bad, MVP has sick play. I expect a close series, i find marineking players 1 style though, anyone else get this vibe?

By the OPs definition tons of people can be considered a "silver surfer," when in reality it only really applies to people who have mutiple 2nd place finishes before and real victories.

Foxer won't the kong line, not because he won't lose, but because he shouldn't be compared to Stork and Yellow.

Hype levels for the finals are overwhelming me. One of my scenarios will wind up working out. Will MKP transition into a champion? Or will he become a Silver Surfer and not allow Jinro to copy his build? Oh yeah, and turn himself into a liar as well for making that promise to Jinro to beat MVP.
