So after having to stop playing a bit because I had to focus on school... I remember how terrible I was at pvp... well at pvanything really. My builds are terrible, my micro/macro is terrible... overall just terrible. It reminds me why I like to run the tournaments more then be in them haha Also reminds me how much I miss watching people play live. Sure the VoDs and Replays aren't bad, but I love watching in real life. Just something about seeing the skill, the ability to move that fast, how they really know what they are doing. The best players to watch though, are the ones who seem to always know exactly what the other person is going to do.
Its at tournaments that the real fun is at though. Especially the ones that are road trips in themselves. Having to drive an hour+ with friends, getting there and meeting the people you are going to go up against, finding new people to practice with, and even getting to see that person who beat you last time, knowing that this time, you are going to be bringing the thunder! (cheesy line ftw) And when the match is over, players [sometimes] don't act like jerks but instead they gg and shake each other's hands. Then they get ready for a rematch.
There is always a real.. adrenalin rush type of atmosphere. With everyone cheering and getting pumped up on energy drinks haha. At least at the LANs I go to, The commentator (Drogith) always gets the crowd going too. The whole experience is just... a lot of fun. Right now, I don't get to see to many people play in real life. Only the occasional LANs and Tournaments (cheap plug here for the New England Sc2 League Tournaments next one being January 22, 2010). I'm just glad that by September, Jeremy will be back and he'll be playing again. I'll be able to watch someone who knows what they are doing more often haha
Anyways, back to the original meaning of this blog. What do you all think? What is the best way to watch Starcraft 1/2?
