So, I decided I wanted to learn how to play the extremely beautiful initial part of BWV 848 on piano despite not being a pianist. It is far, far from well played, but I'm pretty happy to have learned it as well as I have considering how terrrible I am at the instrument. :D

Excellent. I love Bach. You should work on his 2 part inventions now. They are extremely important in developing you Bach piano playing.

I remember wanting to figure out some songs without actually 'understanding' how to play them... they were out of my league if you objectively measured my piano knowledge/skills... and it's a lot of fun to do that sometimes! Congrats and feel free to keep figuring out other songs! :p

Thank you for the positive comments! ^__^ And it wasn't really a ragequit, the part that I wanted to learn was finished there (it starts over and then goes into another part that I'm not as fond of

) and I didn't have anything planned to wrap the song up so I just... quit.

Since I am a very good guitarist (fuck modesty :D) I have a lot of theoretical knowledge about music (and therefore also some basics about piano playing) + already fast and well-coordinated fingers, so I've just kept on fucking around with this piece for a couple of months (I think, but I have no idea when I started out), playing a little every day while gradually getting faster and faster, better and better. Considering how hard I thought it was the first 100 times I tried playing it (10 times slower and only one hand at the time) I'm pretty surprised and proud that I can now pull it off at least somewhat decently.

And ya, Bach is totally kick-ass. :D

Very nicely done. Already being a musician helps but it still takes lots of practice to get your fingers to move in ways they aren't used to. The piano really, really needs some tuning/maintenance though :/

I don't think I'm gonna bother to learn any more of it actually. This is the part that I'm in love with and wanted to be able to play, and it takes quite a lot of time and effort to learn such complex stuff when you're not really supposed to be able to play it.

So I think I'm gonna stop here.
