So I didn't have that much HW today, and sort of procrastinated bad anyways :/ I'll do it all during our free period in band tomorrow lol. Feel like such a slacker.
So during this slacking period I watched some GSL vods and was in my room watching them and then...
my mom is gone? wtf.
My brother evidently got in some shitty argument with her about bassoon reeds and so she leaves.
And then my dad comes out and makes us all talk to him and expresses his desire to get a divorce, except for we're still here :/
And then I get accused of slacking, which I did :/
And then It's 10:40 and I feel like shit
Mom just got back and is whining about my computer usage, while she works on a puzzle for like the third day straight like 4 hours a day lol.
This is just my opinion, I had this issue with my family when I was younger, the important thing is you need to set aside 30 minutes to an hour every few days and sit and talk with them. Believe me, it's worth it to help avoid awful tragedies that you'll regret once it's happened. Just simple communication solves massive issues, a lot of times it's not really even the issues at hand, its something simpler that they can't realize. Parents generally give their lives to their kids and when you spend a lot of time on the PC they really lose focus on what they should be doing as individuals and that creates issues. Trust me, spend a little time with them and it'll make a world of difference, like I said most arguments aren't really about what they're arguing over.
With schoolwork just set a goal, set aside adequate time, and get it done. If you don't care then you don't care, not everyone cares about school and it's really up to them to start caring and even if they don't, so long as you have a good work ethic you won't really need a degree to succeed so long as you can persevere.
Well, your feeling is right. You are slacking right now. Also I think your mom is trying to do what she thinks is the best for you though. I honestly think that. Although she tells you you're shit, she probably wants you to prove her wrong, and that's not really what you're doing. PROVE HER WRONG!!!! It'll do some good for you and her. Oh well, probably not the best advice, but do your best.
Your parents have serious fucking issues. Finish out high school well so you can get a scholarship, go to college and stop depending on them.
It honestly makes me mad that he'd bring up divorce in that manner. It's not something you discuss with your kids until there's actually something happening.
well if you talk with your parents and they act like this then id have to agree, they arent a good pillar in your life and you should get away from them.

He did write in one of his previous blogs that relations between him and his parents started to deteriorate recently so maybe issues between them are what is causing this. If they will apply their own "advice" to themselves, won't run from their problems and do anything (including divorcing) about this, then it can mean changes for better for him too.

They are and you don't wield it over your kid's head like that for sure. Whatever they will do about their relationship doesn't change this. But still if they will have less to deal with and thanks to that, stop becoming angered more because of it then they will not cause him as much problems.
edit: Besides, his dad telling him he's thinking about divorce isn't the worst thing he heard from them. It's more of an another proof of severity of the situation. I think I would rejoice thinking I would have to deal with only 1 of them at a time, even if it's not going to end with a divorce.

www.freedomainradio.com has a lot of people calling in during sunday shows who are struggling hard to find a way to resolve/communicate or to gain closure. The website isn't just about family issues, but many of its podcasts/interviews do deal with this.
Marshall Rosenberg has also done a lot of work in teaching a nonviolent language of communication. His full series is available on youtube. This man has helped resolve warring villages in unfortunate countries by teaching them how to talk properly. Link below:
i'll probably make a thread in general sometime about his work, because it deserves to be spread around. The series is long, but the workshop is really helpful and will help you a lot in diffusing conflict, if you can make yourself learn how to speak in non violent communication.

Your dad is messed up too and this has been said too many times, but you need to get the hell out of there.
My parents told me today not to worry about my marks this coming term (Im in university) as long as I pass. Coming from Asian parents I thought it didn't make much sense
I always take a grain of salt when it comes to reading about teens or what they say is going on, but here I think it's safe to say that you seem pretty unhappy with your mom, but it'd be nice to know if there is other good traits or good events that have happened int he past. that way we can know that your life at home isn't all oppressive.
