I am nervous.
The deadline for graduate school application for University of Chicago is today, but I just checked - and to my horror, they haven't received my GRE score yet.
I ordered it on December 20th. By now it's been 11 days. ETS says the score will arrive in 6-10 days. Damn it.
Anyways, any advices? Should I call them and ask? Is there anyone here who is familiar with how UChicago operates? Am I going to be forgiven for a late GRE score?

Call them and ask; it's not like it's going to hurt your chances if you do that.
It's better to know than not, right?

I was going to do that following your suggestion, then I realized they don't even have a phone number to call for admission issues (except an email, but that probably won't help too much).
Now I just hope they won't throw my application away just because I got GRE late...
It's gonna be a nerve-whacking 2-4 months.

It probably won't quell your fears too much because you've already applied to college for a four year degree (so I don't know anything about that process that you don't), but I always thought deadlines were for getting in the application form. The little pieces that go with it (such as SAT or GRE scores) can come a little bit late.
In my experience with college applications, I've had things like this happen two times (one with SATs during high school, another with some bullshit financial aid stuff) and both times they still gave me full consideration even though those extraneous pieces were a few days late.
But like others before me have said, just send them and e-mail and get an answer about whether or not your application will be considered so you don't have to wait all that time to find out whether or not you got in.

Yeah, like neSix said, my experience in college deadlines has always been that the deadline is for the application form, whereas the other bits such as official test score reports and what-not are due somewhat later or are at least more lenient. On the application, you listed your GRE scores, correct? So they'd only be waiting for the official report from ETS.

Yes, it asks for my self-report of GRE score as well as an official one from ETS.
O well, I sent them an email. Hopefully this will work out... fingers crossed...

For undergrad applications, the score report deadlines are much later than the normal ones--for UCs it's January 15th (Application Deadline is Nov 30) and many common application schools with a deadline of Jan 1 have a score report deadline of Feb XX.
I'd be surprised if the same didn't apply (lol) for graduate schools.

I would imagine, no matter if it's 6-10 business days or just days, they wouldn't send it over Christmas Eve/Christmas/Boxing Day/Today/Tomorrow. Maybe.
If it's business days..

Good luck!

I am not sure if it's by mail. It's kind of hard to say. Either way, it should be arriving soon.... I hope.

it's probably business day.
also, I really don't think it matters too much, as long as your got your application in. When I was applying, some schools (CMU as one for sure) actually mentioned a grace period for rec letters and official GRE scores.
Besides, presumably, you already reported your GRE score with the app, I don't know if the official one actually serves any purpose other than to confirm what you've said...

TBH if its anything like my grad school app. The departments dont even get around to looking at the thing until 2-3 months after its submitted. I submitted my GRE scores late as well and it was no issue.
