Well I'm out of Bronze, that was the first league I was placed at and I'm now in Silver, and I've got to say this game is getting quite fun now. I played BW most of my gaming life and I think that contributes to my SC2 play style a bit.
I found SC2 boring in Bronze because every game I played was just me fending off cheese, and winning in a macro war.
Now I just got in Silver and am about to start mass gaming for about 4 hours. wish me luck!
p.s I would like to thank everyone in this thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=178803
for all the help and especially Arisen for teaching me that you can hotkey all your gates and you don't individually have to click them all, my macro is crazy now and I'm actually using chrono boost now!!

Hotkey all ur gates? You do know that warpgates are automatically binded to w so i dont see why u were clicking em one by one in the first place.

Just keep it up. Eventually you get to people who have an idea of what they are doing

Yeah... just use "w" for gates, don't bother to hotkey any of them lol ^^ grats for getting out of bronze though.

Did your begin "gaming life" recently or something? lol how were you in bronze if you've played bw for that time?
|
Fending off cheese and winning in a macro war doesn't change as you go up in divisions. Sorry if this crushes your dreams.
|
I find that hotkeying your "warpgate pylon" is very helpful as well. Sort of like sc2's f2-f4 key

This exactly. In silver, it doesn't differ much from bronze, but around gold - platinum you'll start to see a lot more early pressure and all-ins.

I only have about 60 games logged in gold and that's all I really see too. You see all this awesome play at the upper levels and plan on a great, tested and true macro strategy only to get hit with a continuous line of cheese. Blizzard initiation? Maybe...
Glad it's fun, though!

Now every game I go: PvP 2 Gates, add robo, then add another gate to fend off 4gate --> into macro game PvT 2 gate robo --> macro game/timing push PvZ 2 gate robo --> macro game
Eventually I'm going to start adding in other strats because when I get to the higher levels people will rush/timing push.

I've been in silver forever (I think because I haven't played much): I was silver until beta ended, and now that I have a trial key (expiring in just a few hours or so), I'm still in silver after about 8 games including placements. I'd like to be able to actually play SC2 with a copy, but from beta and the few hours I've played on a trial, I go 3 gate robo vs zerg (it hits a nice timing with several immortals, I think), 4gate vs toss, and DT expand vs terran (if I can).
I'd like to be able to experiment and play out some more...the game just feels as if every time I move out, I'll get raped by mass void rays/mutas/cloaked banshees or something. I just fall apart to harass >\\\<
GLHF on your exploits!

Buy the game man! I wish I bought it earlier, but then again I didn't have a computer that could run it.
Also, your quote made me lol quite hard :D

Haha I'm not allowed to buy sc2, at least for the time being >___<; I might be getting it soon though :3
And XP I think it's pretty quirky/funny too :> first time someone mentioned it~

Oh well, that sucks. Do you want another trial key? I was in your situation not too long ago so I know how it feels like, msg me if you want the key or not. I believe its in Asia though... so...
