Hi TL,

I'm heading down to Seattle next Wednesday, the 22nd. I'm only going to be there for the day(I'm picking up a gaming keyboard for my boyfriend from a store down there- shipping is far too expensive. So I figured I'd make a day trip out of it)~

Since the only times I've been in Seattle were to catch flights or transfer to another Greyhound, I don't actually know anything about the city. Or anywhere to go.

I'll be getting in at the Greyhound station at 3pm(or, if I'm lucky and can catch the Greyhound at 7:45am, I'll be there at 11:50am ), and I'll either be taking the 8:10pm or 10pm Greyhound back up to Vancouver(where I live).
The only place I have to go to is Computer Sonics to pick up the Keyboard, which will take an hour at the most. So this leaves me with anywhere from 4-8 hours to sit around and chill in Seattle with my boyfriend.

We were thinking we'd grab a quick lunch as soon as we got there, then go for a more sit down dinner.

So, I need help!
Anyone know any~
-Yummy, quick lunch places(we might just end up going to like subway or something if all else fails)
-Yummy sit down dinner places ~
-Things to do during the day(around the Greyhound Station, it's on Stewart Street I believe) ~ Anything is fine. Just something that'll entertain us. Haha.
-Shopping mall p_q (I want to buy some stuffff) or something similar.

Someone already recommended I go check out Pike Street Market (I think that's it), which is a close enough walk from the Greyhound.

Any other cool places would be nice though! =D We'll probably want to take a few cool pictures too ~ Maybe i'll post some up after. >: ]

Anyway, yeah, any tips or anything would be great! I've gone to the internet and read reviews, but I'd much prefer tips/advice/ideas from people I can directly relate to on some level. ^_~

Please & Thank you ~ ^_^ xo

Edit: If you're curious, this is the keyboard I'm getting for him.
http://www.xarmor-usa.com/xarmor-u9bl-led-backlit-mechanical-gaming-keyboard.html
They don't sell it anywhere in Canada(Unless I want to buy 20+ at once v_v), and shipping is absolutely ridiculous. p_q

Pike's market is okay, you can pick up a brown starbuck tumbler if you like/don't hate starbucks.

Lunch:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/paseo-seattle

I strongly recommend paseo, it's far out, but I think it's worth the cab ride

Seattle has good seafood, Chiso is a restaurant that I like... I think.

You think? xD!

Me & my boyfriend enjoy starbucks :D So that'll be good.

For Paseo, how far away is it? And mentioning Taxi's, what's the number I could call for one? And how much do you think it would be to get there/what's the rate(approximately)?

But Paseo sounds great! The reviews sound good, glad you recommended it. (:

Another vote for Paseo, it's good but out of the way if you're gonna be around the DT area. I usually go there on my trip back to Vancouver.

Tom Douglas' Serious Pie has like the best pizza I've ever had. It's a little pricey, but the the truffle mushroom pizza is ridiculously good.

I'm actually not 100% sure what is considered the Downtown area of Seattle, so.

As long as we can get there by bus, we should have no problem. xD!

And truffle mushroom? on pizza? p_q delicious

greyhound is around 8th and stewart, it's at the northeast end of downtown. Everything south and/or west of there is downtown at least till you're past the stadiums.

If you want seafood a little cheaper (but still definitley a Seattle experience), I'd recommend Ivar's for fish and chips. It's on the waterfront, pier 66 I believe. (it's a few blocks south of pike's)

Also for shopping, westlake village is the high-end fashion/shopping district. It's quite close to the greyhound terminal, make your way towards 5th and pine/pike.

Have fun in Seattle! bring an umbrella too, lol

HIGH-END FASHION SHOPPING DISTRICT!

TL makes me so happy ;__; ♥ My boyfriend is going to hate me ;__; ♥♥♥

I think my boyfriend likes seafood. I like shrimp and prawns, but that's it :C So maybe we'll go and I'll get french fries 8D(my favorite food!)~~~

Thank you Aidnai ^___^

And yeah, I bring an umbrella everywhere right now xD Vancouver weather is extremely similar to Seattle, haha. ^^;

Salumi in Pioneer Square is an awesome place for lunch. It's a cured meats shop owned by Mario Batali's parents that does a bunch of sandwiches, and they have the most delicious Porchetta! Highly recommend.

Paseo's would be a close second for a good sandwich.

It's a short bus ride from downtown. From Pike's Market you can take the underground bus at University Street one stop down to Pioneer Square, and the bus is free in that area between 6AM and 7PM =D

There's an above ground stop that can take you almost directly there, but there's a lot more stops in between, so depends on where you're coming from exactly. Google maps Pike Place to Salumi and hit public transport for your bus line options

South end of downtown, like 2nd and Yesler.

Actually, bubble tea is quite popular in vancouver (BC) as well, though in the states it's often called boba.
BTW, bubble tea is usually flavored tea with milk and tapioca pearls or 'bubbles'. Almost always served cold with a huge straw.

edit:
and yes, the buses are free in the downtown area during the day.

And unfortunately our bubble tea isn't nearly as good as Vancouver I would imagine.

Unfortunately, Bubble tea from anywhere else in NA will never be as good as it is in Vancouver. =P

Also if you want to stick around more to the Pike's Place area, there's a Vietnamese restaurant on 2nd and Stewart named Long Provincial restaurant. Very very reasonable prices for really good food in a fancy looking place. It's a sister restaurant to Tamarind Tree in the International District which is usually quoted as one of the top two Vietnamese places down there. My favorite dish is the Coconut Braised Pork (I don't even normally like coconut that much!).

And then there's also Pike Place Chowder's clam chowder. They put bacon in it, and it is awesome! Maybe just get a small cup while you walk around... I also wasn't a big fan of clam chowder until this =D

Glad to be of service! In return, you should convince some Cantonese/HK-style chefs to set up shop down here We could really use it
