EDIT2: also make sure to check out TaKe's upcoming mini documentary about the event + extensive TLO interviews! without him all this wouldn't have happened
Due to TaKe and his awesome awesomeness (and of course thanks to TLO himself, always investing so much time for the crowd and the fans) a bunch of nerds came out to Frankfurt Airport tonight and gave the handsome aller-liquidian a warm welcome.
Nerds accumulating. And what? Is that... wait...
...yes! A woman! (From what I understood she got paid with cake to come and take pics... :D) Note the baller shirt on her husband as well!
I was the 10th arriving there or so, quite some people were already there and more and more poured in and joined us. I think we got up to 20 in numbers. Quite impressive for such a spontaneous event.
TaKe interviewing some guys who came out, with a happy drooL in the background.
We had to wait really long because apparently the thingy that spews out all the luggage was broken. So basically we waited for an hour too long although TLO was standing about 20m (by air) away from us, behind the LOS blocker (lol). Didn't matter too much, because the tension and atmosphere were great, my stomach felt like turned upside down inside out. Or something weird like that.
Shinanigans as a result of excitement.
Awesome posters!
Then The Man himself arrived, a gentle smirk on his lips as we greeted him with cheering and applauding and his gracious face shone over us, filling our nerd-hearts with nerd-love.
You just gotta love TLO. Even old grannys do.
TLO adressing TaKe with his first words back in Germany, with Zatic, the mad mobile-livestreamer in the background.
Then we just sat around, where TLO was signing some SC2 boxes and welcome posters, while many people asked questions and took pictures. He was pretty happy to be able to speak German again, haha. He said he was damn tired (O RLY? Seoul -> Dallas -> getting 5th in a huge tournament -> Seoul -> Frankfurt in (less than) a week seems like a piece of cake to me) but he didn't show it at all. He seemed very glad and stunned by so many people showing up, which is awesome. Again, huge props to you TLO, devoting so much time to your fans! Amazing!
TLO with one of the guys who took the pictures. thanks for that!
After about 40 minutes of chatter and laugh, TaKe and his guys and TLO decided to leave, as they had an at-least-2-hour-drive to Krefeld ahead of them. As I write this, Dario is probably still being tortured by TaKe, who is extracting even the tiniest bits of information out of him, like 10 drones omnomnoming on a mineral patch that has only 50 mins left. (Bad analogy I know.)
Of course none other than ZATIC was present as well, providing you guys with updates in the thread and even a livestream from his mobile! (I didn't even know that that was possible, lol.) It was a pleasure to meet you, Sir, hopefully our paths cross again, somewhere in the (not too far) future
Zatic, TLO and TaKe with me hiding.
So that pretty much sums up the awesome event and the nice evening we all had. Since I started casting just at the time when TLO left europe, I can't wait to finally follow some live games of him myself, as he will be entering some of the weekly tourneys in Europe again, to strike with his mighty swarm power onto all the lesser mortals that dare to stand his way.
♥
Thanks for the good time TLO and TaKe, I love you guys and greetings to all the others who came out! Special thanks to Peter and Acidem who provided me with the pictures.
Let me end this first blog post of mine with the very game that made me (and probably many others) fall in deep, deep nerdlove with TLO and his play (talking about game 2 of the series ofc). Cheers!
