In Keeping with my recent habit of making blogs with documentaries about Bruce Lee, I bring you another Martial Arts and comedy legend, the one and only Jackie Chan!
this is an in-depth documentary about martial arts legend Jackie Chan. Featuring insights and revealing anecdotes from Jackie Chan himself about his early acting career, his subsequent success and his personal life. Films discussed include "Snake In The Eagle's Shadow", "Drunken Master", "Project A", "Police Story" "Armour Of God" and "Miracles".
Have to say I'm really disappointed with his latest Hollywood movies..... His movies were the few new Chinese movies I actually liked, such as Shinjuku Incident.
Of course I've always loved the old (1980's-1990's) comedy/action stuff that used to be on TV every now and then, especially near Chinese New Year, starring for example Sammo Hung, (the only one I can remember because I'm not good with their names) are always good and better. Wonder why Chinese/Hong Kong movies now don't seem to make sense at all. Too dam many plot holes and ridiculous twists.
Have to say he isn't very tall but is really broad and muscular! Saw him from far a few years ago promoting his gym :D
I started watching the new Karate Kid movie that just came out and was very pleasently surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Can't wait to get home from work to finish the other half. When I first heard it would be Will Smith's son as the Daniel character and Jackie Chan as Mr.Miagi I cringed at the thought of how bad it would be. But I have to admit from what i've seen so far they both do a really good job... i just hope the second half is as good as the first. It's really rare for a "remake" to be any good, but this might be an exception. I have much more repsect for Jackie Chan's acting skills now..
"Wax On, Wax Off" is now "Jacket On, Jacket Off"... LOL

Yeah, I didn't think that it would be too good either. Not that I think the original was amazing, but still I usually hate remakes.
Sidenote, Pay attention to the kid with the mohawk, he is a G yo. (Last few fight scenes)

Ironically, you actually remember those movies because they were so bad. I remember The Tuxedo vaguely and have completely forgot what The Medallion was about.
Drunken Master 2, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, Rumble in the Bronx, Mister Nice Guy, New Police Story, Police Story 1,2, Dragons Forever, Drunken Master, New Police Story, Operation Condor
Jackie Chan is a boss, Drunken Master 2 was amazing, I still love the first Rush Hour even though critique wise it was nothing special. Thanks for the videos
I can't help to think about how he did the parkour / l'art du déplacement stuff waaay earlier and better than the French, as much as I enjoy David Belle :D
Btw , Just in case you want to not irritate/ impress some Cantonese/Chinese speakers - He's Ch'AHn not Chén ..
