This morning I was watching Fauxer vs Kyrix and it was at the last match and I thought Kyrix was going to win game 5 after a long struggle (he had just taken out Fauxer's gold and Kyrix had his 3rd for a long time) so I left cause my stupid lil bro missed his school bus and needed me to take him to school. So thinking Kyrix would win I took my lil bro to school. AND THEN SOMEHOW I COME BACK AND SEE FAUXER WON?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!?
sorry I am really upset. I love Fauxer to no end. I am just hoping someone out there can feel my pain who saw how awesome those games were.

Definitely best game of either GSL so far! It really gives me hope for SC2's future as an eSport. If all games are like that in a year or 2 from now, I have no doubt that this game will be the true successor to BW.

Game 3 was on steppes, and it was basically just the same as Game 2, except a bit longer and with even more marines!
Kyrix does play such a dirty ZvT. It'd be cool if he were more macro oriented and just threw in these baller bling attacks occasionally instead of damn near ALL THE TIME, but hey, he deserved to get that far. I'd hate to play him. Oh so much.

Game 3 was pretty lame

Ahhhh, it happens.... I missed JD's 2nd OSL comeback-win... and i also missed the day2 of the proleague finals in 2009 where OZ managed to bring the series to the 7th set...... and also tons of ceremonies..... these times will forever haunt my waking hours

Ehh, I thought game 1 was great, amazing micro without ever missing a macro cycle and Z just struggling to survive.
Game 5 wasn't nearly as good, many many mistakes from both players and Z basically throwing it away with overaggression. they both had limited information so its understandable, but Z really fucked himself over by never teching to Infestor or picking up burrow, never sitting back and consolidating his advantage, plus his extreme lack of upgrades vs 3-3 marines.
plus when he had about 4 OV's full of blings he should have used one or two to come from behind the mineral line of the gold expo, would have killed literally 95% of Foxers scv/mules and won him the game basically. Trying to drop on the marines was just dumb with Foxers level of micro.
It wasn't straight up bad play but still frustrating to watch.

Completely agree, I found Kyrix's play so frustrating. No armor upgrades and no infestors vs mass marines, making banelings in bad spots and using them way too much off creep, being too impatient with zerglings and attacking before they were all together, didn't put a hydra den down when he scouted the banshees in game 4, way over aggressive in game 5 and those full ovies... omg.

Game 5 showed some really good play by FoxeR, but his comeback was off a completely unnecessary and stupid move by Kyrix. FoxeR was moving on an expansion, desperately trying to gain some counter-play, but Kyrix could just have sacced it and gone for FoxeR's undefended nat and main -- he was in position to do so. Kyrix threw away his whole army by clashing with FoxeR's. He could have countered and probably won. Instead he lost every bit of map control and mobility he had in eight seconds.
From there, FoxeR played very well, latching on tooth and nail to the weakness Kyrix gave him to eventually come back. It was a good game and all, but it would have been way more awesome - in the old school epic definition of the word "awesome" - if the comeback was due to FoxeR's brilliance rather than Kyrix's single biggest mistake of the game.
Game 1 made me pee my pants, though.

Yeah, great game 5, lots of emotion - lots of agony and finally a triumphant ending. SC2 beauty.

I think everyone on TL IRC decided that forever foxer>fauxer since it's pronounced differently.
But besides that! I stayed up with my boyfriend(they were on at 3am our time) even though I worked at 7am, and I was O______O the whole time.
