I think 20$ is reasonable for mowing the lawn though, especially if you bring your own mower. Depending on the yard you might want to charge 10-15 bucks and hour. Also nobody lets a random kid into their house to clean things.

Lol 9.50 isn't minimum wage...trust me I make less than that at my part time job and it's not even minimum. edit: found out it depends where you live. I live in BC and it's the lowest...a measly $8/hour. For a 15 year old...8$ an hour sounds about right.

Key word here is "parents/aunts". When I was younger (around 10-11), I used to go to my grandparent's place and water their frigging patch of grass with a hose for 15 minutes and they would give me $10 each time. God damn how much I would love that now. Getting family to pay you is easy. Getting a random person to pay you is hard as hell.

THATS IT. you spoiled kids these days :/. Dude I don't have an allowance. Your spoiledness as a child > mine I grew up when I was in my teen years doing all those chores for 0 pay. Got no allowance ever. When I was like you know, 9 or 10 years old we'd take the trash out to the curb each week for the garbage trucks to pick up in the mornings for like 15 cents. I'd was the cars (full car wash, and I was f'ing amazing at it) for like 5 bucks. I remember when our neighbors who were extremely friendly to us, would hvae us take car of their two golden retrievers (scoop up the poop in the side yard and toss it in the trash can, hose off the side yard, change their water bowl, feed them a bowl of food, walking the dogs and playing with them in the front yard was optional) for 5 bucks a day, we considered that the most awesome thing ever. This was all until I was 16 and then I got a job lifeguarding. Get money, save it, get gifts from relatives, save it, thats how I always grew up. Even now that I'm in college and have an on campus job I make my paychecks and don't spend it, it gets put in direct deposit, and I can say I've spent less than 400 dollars on personal items in the past 2 years. 30 dollars for SC2 when I got it on sale during a preorder, 25 dollars for a mouse, 25 dollars for a headset, 18 dollars for a mousepad. Don't give an attitude on here to people who are telling it how it is. We're all people who have been there before and aren't here with the goal of being malicious, just trying to help you figure it out.

if someone wants to pay you way more than they should, take it! just be ready to negotiate if your neighbor laughs in your face for an outrageous price. people would pay 20$ or something to get their lawn mowed... be sure to start in your neighborhood. people tend to take care of their own, and if your neighbors see you hustling around the block, theyll be more apt to turn to someone they know
