straight up go door to door and see who wants these services. for those who want it, begin to explain why you are doing it. after that talk prices, if they just think you want money for w.e reason its easy to say no. but if they know your motive they might side with you and agree on w.e you want from them. thats hustle. you gotta buy them first with words, then sell them what you have.

in your case

lawn raked 6$
mowed/weed wacked - 20$
house cleaned - 40$

those are sick prices bro, watch how many will say yes.

Do it in your own house, feel what is easy what is hard, note the time it took.

Now base your price around this : easy work (go between 6 and 9$ an hour, not sure what are standard in your country, just remember you are 15years old and not a professional company so being paid minimum wages is not something you're entitled for) add a third for hard work.
Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.

Your price for mowing is fine. Not too sure about the vacuuming and I think raking would have to be entirely dependent on the customer.

if mowing comes with weeding, it should be $40 not $20

house cleaning should depend on the size of the house and how dirty it is

Hahahaha, wow - the headline of this blog is awesome!

It's like in the ads section of a newspaper when you come across something like "5 year old Afghan girl, playful and well behaved for sale" - the seconds after the initial shock and the suppressed realization that it's the dog breed that Afghan refers to are pure laughter!

You might be able to get away with this if you live in an upscale neighborhood, where yards and houses etc. are fairly large.

People living in upscale neighborhoods who care about their yards/houses already have immigrant laborers :/

And yeah I thought this thread was about buying a 15-year-old..

Cleaning house/vacuuming is way too generic. It could be too much or too little.

Usually you approach someone and say you want to raise money for X and then you will get them to pay whatever to help you out of their heart rather than paying you for the actual task.

Your prices look reasonable. When quoting prospective clients make sure you tailor the price to their property. If you underquote a big property the owner will think you don't realise how big a job it is. Conversely if you overquote people will just think all you want is money. You just need to get out there and find what are willing to pay.

I pay my cleaning lady here in Prague (where I'm studying) $8,5/hour, and she has several years experience and is more than twice your age... When I work in Norway during the summers, I get paid around $25 per hour. I'm a 21 year old medical student, have a lot of working experience and work in a country where everything is more expensive than in the U.S. You will be lucky to find any work at all with those prices. Good luck, though!

pretty sure he means to charge other people for his services lol
@OP
I'd change my rates based on the amount of work (big yard, big house) you're expected to do, and otherwise id just ask the family what sounds reasonable to them.
To be honest though, i think you're better off trying to get a job hookup from a relative or just ask your parents for a new computer =p
If you show them the research you did on the computer you want and have decent-good grades im sure they'll at least think about it.

ditto, no allowance here either when i was growing up

the prices seems a little high.. i mow the lawn (for free obv) but i don't think it takes me more than 30 minutes.. so that'd be like $5 for a 15yo
not sure how that turns into $20. oh well

edit: in the end it's not the price that matters, it's how well you get along with whomever you're doing the job for. talk to them and see what they expect or what they like, you'd be surprised.. for example they might have something fairly simple to do that they really want to have done, but haven't been able to get around to (like cleaning out the basement or something) and pay you very well just to have it done
make a good impression first, discuss details later imo
(\o/)  If you want it, you find a way. Otherwise you find excuses. No exceptions.

No, that´s way too much.

Seriously, $20 an hour averages over 40,000 a year, which is appropriate for a BA or associates.
But a lot of kids are actually paid that much. Sounds good.

$20 an hour is reasonable for any sort of casual manual labor.
