EPTHello fellow Liquidians!
I have returned from the first day of New York Comiccon with a tale that will shock and awe, cause people to weep in joy and in sadness, it will be continued and updated at a later date in time with additional photos and hingsights but I will give you this recap of my day now:
My day started pretty awesome, woke up an amazingly late 10:30 am EST. More than enough time to get my game on, take a shower, pack a bag, and get to the train station by 12:27. After a rousing game of League of Legends a few Liquidians (namely randomkorean, mrgerry, and caller) invite me to another at around 11:30. I figure I can finish this game before i have to leave. Turns out to take 50 minutes and an epic come back later we win. Clock: 12:28. Not a problem! Next train is an hour later and I catch that one with no problem
After exiting from Penn Station I'm a bit lost (as I came out an exit I don't usually use and my usual method of finding the sun in the sky to figure out which way is west was not working) I asked a police officer outside where 11th ave was. He nicely pointed me in the direction but before I could move he said "You're not going to the Javitz Center right? It's closed down"
My eyes blew up to the size of usual anime proportions and my chin hit the floor. After fumbling for words to figure out what the hell happened he burst out into laughter and told me he was just kidding. After nearly having a heart attack I continued to the Javitz Center. Although I wasn't sure I was actually traveling in the right direction, the amount of cat eared girls and men in bleach swordsmen outfits told me I was traveling in the correct direction.
Now for the line to pickup my badge, was about over 9000 people long. Literally. Nothing particularly interesting happened here, although i saw an amazing Chewbacca costume (it was a life size 8.5 or so feet tall) walk out the door I could not react with my camera fast enough to take a picture. But never fear! I have other nerd friends who will send me their pictures for your eyes to feast on.

I stayed around for a little and watched a game but the match was almost over and soon everyone left so I began to wander. Over to the other side of the convention hall I walked right into the Ubisoft booth where I was pleasantly greeted by synchronized wookie dancing to beat-it with the help of two unknown females

After the shock factor of what they were actually doing wore off I perused the floor looking for my favorite booths to visit. I took a quick stop at the Capcom booth and took a picture of their pretty awesome signage + Show Spoiler +

Next I stopped by the Nintendo and Sega booths but they too had pretty long lines and I wasnt very interested in their games. I will probably go back tomorrow and try out the new donkey kong country and get a few snapshots of their booths.
I bumped into a person cosplaying as The Magnificent Twisted Fate (from League of Legends) and took a quick picture of him

Now here is where the fun starts. While passing by the Magic: The Gathering booth I saw someone that looked pretty familiar. Turns out it was Amy from WCG Ultimate Gamer season 1. The nice little promotion they were running was if you beat a frag girl on their new MTG steam client you won some snazzy headphones. Unfortunately the deck customization was limited and I had no idea what half of the cards did so I lost by the skin of my teeth (she had 3 life left when I was at -2) but I got a free usb bracelet thingy that has the game preinstalled on it and a card to redeem the full version and all expansions for free on steam. After exchanging good games, and a friendly handshake I walked away with this.

Oh and she asked if I was rooting for her to win WCG ultimate gamer. I should have said yes but being the fathead I am, I instinctively said no, I wish Geoff (incontrol) won. Subconscious starcraft fan for life!
After standing in front of a computer screen for probably atleast 30 minutes I decided it was time to sit and went to the mini theater (once again on the bumblefuck other side of the convention center) and watched some girl's dance group doing anime dances (you can check them out here http://www.youtube.com/user/ichiPdansu ) called IchiP! and some guy who's name escapes me (SORRY!) singing japanese anime theme songs impressively well.
Once again I decided it was time to see if there was more starcraft2 to be watched. But I was unhappily greeted by Pokebunny + Show Spoiler +

BUT WAIT, THERES MORE
I found the hero of the internet, a symbol of hope for noobs everywhere, and next voice actor for the hydralisk death sound in sc3, Sean "Day9" Plott.
I was able to finally sneak in a picture with him and it was so draining on his body that he collapsed afterwards.

but before anyone starts feeling bad, all of the liquidians surrounding him sat down and then offered to pick him up and throw his dead weight body into a taxi to get to his hotel (in new jersey, what the fuck?).
For most things, caffiene fixes the problem, for everything else there is a team of nerds worshiping a nerd to get you where you need to go.
I hope to update this blog later with more peektures and maybe videos and things that I may have forgotten.
Oh and not included but equally cool I saw Torch (whos real name I don't know) and his girlfriend Rachel (whos gamettag I don't know but I do know she was in WCG ultimate gamer s2 and isnt very good at pacman) but I felt too fanboyish to ask them for a photo-op.
