I'll be studying in Bristol for this next semester hopefully - I'm pretty stoked. Haven't been anywhere in ages really so it's going to be a good experience living in a different country, knowing no one, experiencing everywhere, etc. Going just randomly though lol... any reason in particular? Where are you now?

I'm in Blackpool, just randomly moved here to be with a friend but he fucked off back to his mom's. Got no one in Brighton for 2 weeks but I should be able to find somewhere to stay :s I'm not nervous about it (hi medication!) but it will be the least secure thing I've done so far. I'll just go from door to door until some place accepts me

By the way I'm posting this incase anyone has any tips for this situation or wants to convince me not to attempt it lol Lost my internet connection so won't be around much.

Nice, Brighton's a really nice and fun place
I live in Worthing, so I go there quite a lot, but I'm studying in Bath next week

Just a very liberal part of the country. Lots of art and stuff there. Also the gay capital of England.

My friend living in canada was born in Brighton. He loved it, and returns there every year to visit etc.
Seagulls fighting xD

Ah cool, you living there now?! I'll be at Bristol - I've already applied and I'm pretty sure I'll get in but I'm just waiting to be sure. I'm so excited though!!
And to OP - I say go for ittttt I doubt anyone will say not to on TL.

Your plan seems pretty awful, especially because you need an address before you can even begin to get benefits sorted and they in turn take a while to get processed. My advice is to stay wherever it is you are now because at least you have £45 in your pocket.

Another Bristolian on TL! this is madness. Unfortunately i go to uni on Friday, but Bristol is an amazing city, the nightlife is incredible, if you tell me what music your into i can guide you to the best places.

Well i used to live in brighton and theres alot of squat houses there so if all else fails, and you don't mind heroic addicts or K heads. If your planning on getting benefits the job centre is right around the corner from the police station. Also if your homophobic in anyway, stay away from St. James' street.

Madness? THIS... IS... BRISTOOOOOOOLL!!!
In all seriousness though, I have never been to Brighton, but it seems a fairly agreeable place. After all, they have the UKs only green party MP and, while not being my party of choice (Labour represent!) They are better than the others as they are policy-wise, essentially communists with wind-turbines, and what's not to love about that :p

Yeah I agree with Kwark, you gotta rethink your plan, if you only have £45 I'd suggest just finding a place in the town you're in now and using the address you have at the moment at the job centre so you can sign on easily.

Brighton is an awesome place (lived there for 4 years) but london prices EVERYWHERE.
Not really for those without a job imo.
