my garage was totaled, some lady fell asleep at the wheel and drove through my yard into my garage. she had a 2 year old that died in the crash.

cars are super dangerous, and are the leading problems to involuntary manslaughter. i'm glad you and your mom survived. i hope everything is alright in the time to come with recovery and everything.

This reminded me when I fell face first into the subway tracks and fractured a my cheek bone... luckily there were cops in the station at that time. Had X-rays, CT scans and whatever else. Found out I also had some minor internal bleeding and a sprained ankle.

I was amazed that I didnt feel any pain or passed out. But it sucked awhile later and the worst was when you tie you up on the stretcher... I probably felt claustrophobic or something, I actually removed the device that secured my neck/head. The doctor that came to see me a few minutes after was pissy about it, but it felt like I couldnt breathe.

i get freaked out by stories like this. i'm terrified of something happening to my parents or sister and me being powerless to stop it. sure, i don't exactly want to get hit by a car, but it's a thought i can entertain, whereas my sister getting hit by a car sends me into a panic attack just thinking about it.

there should be more frequent testing for older drivers , maybe even ban those over 80 years from driving altogether , this is shocking

Sad story. Hope your mom makes a full recovery. This is why I hate cars and am paranoid every time one is passing by.

You're def not crazy Micronesia. I've seen people drive onto the sidewalk many times.

This is a serious law suit right here. This women should definitely be held accountable for at least all the medical bills and further damages she has caused your family. Also is anyone suprised it was a women driver? I know that sounds pretty bad but seriously it's like every single time.

More importantly though, you should definitely be suing this women for negligence and getting a huge settlement from her insurance company.

Yeah, my dad and I are planning to get all the medical bills and further damages from this old grandma driver. It will take time for my dad and I to find an experienced lawyer. I am pretty sure we will win 100% since the driver was 100% at her fault.

Anyways, thank god I can play SC2 and SC:BW and study my actuarial exam manual and do other things now. It would've been suck if I got killed and not be able to play SC2's expansions and maybe SC3 in the future.

THANK GOD MY MOM AND I ARE ALIVE. :O

I had an experience similar to yours; I, however, was in a car at the time, and it involved a police car blindsiding me at 40-50 miles an hour...I'm lucky to be alive because I was lying down and sleeping in the passenger seat--the impact was right above me.

I thank God that we're all alive!! It might take a while for the aching to go away, but it's great that you're alive and healthy.

You're also lucky that the old grandmother has money. Oftentimes, the drivers are poor and can't afford to pay for any damages, anyway. In my case, the police were complete asses about it, because they claimes that 1-2 seconds should have been enough for my dad to swerve out of the way... We had to buy a new car because the policeman totaled our old one, yet we didn't get a single cent in reparations.
