So I somehow got into Platinum with 4-1 in placement. This makes me laugh because I would probably be D- in ICCUP. I say probably because I've only played 3 games in ICCUP. There is an outside chance I could be D, but D- seems likely.

At least I'm not Diamond D: I would play some ladder matches and see if it relegates me to Gold in a hurry, but I think the wipe might be coming before I can get around to it

Oh well, I'll always be able to say I was Platinum for a day.

Rankings don't really matter in Sc2 beta, just enjoy the game!
Congrats on making plat though.

Oh I'm enjoying it. And I'm not to worried about rankings, I just think the one it assigned me is a little undeserved heh. Or maybe there really are that many total newbies playing what do I know.

yea please dont overestimate sc2 leagues.
the average D- iccup player should do ok in the new platinum (if you play just one race at least)

If you have even remote RTS skills, or especially SC skills, you'll already have a massive SC2 advantage. It's very likely that the skill level of players in the beta is slightly higher than it will be at release. This will probably last for a few weeks or so, at which point people will start learning how to adapt and develop new strategies.

Rank on bnet is useless. If you want to know your real rank, go on iccup and play for a full season see where you end up.
