I just played a game where this P proxy 2 gated me in my main. I knew this was happening but I kept mining. would the answer be to send all my scvs kill his pylon?

My reaction was to throw down another rax which I guess is pretty horrible

I would personally send SCVs to destroy the pylon. You would fall back behind on minerals but he wouldn't be in such a great position either doing 2 gate proxy.

The best thing to do though is prevention. Just make sure you can always see what's in your base at all times early on so you don't have to deal with it later.

If you did see all this happening from the very start then make a marine and kill that probe!! =D

FYI by the time my 12rax had finished I had 1 marine against his CB zeal which I think is pretty hard to micro against for a noobie like me.

so when I spot it I go straight to tech lab/reaper and rush for his base or do get a marine(s) first to put in the bunker?

Send 4 SCVs to kill the pylon. With the 4 SCVs, keep killing pylons and forcing the Protoss to make new ones or canceling instead of making zealots. Start cranking out marines in the meantime.

No need to make a marine if you manage spot it before your rax finishes, go straight for the tech lab. If you did make a marine already you can use it to make the zeal run around your base for a few extra seconds while you get a bunker placed. The first step in defending is making sure you don't die (get the bunker placed and a couple reapers out). The next step is killing the pylon powering the gates (which your reapers will make short work of). The last step is sending your reapers to his mineral line and annihilating him.
