The worst part was that Effort played solid but with no style worthy of a OSL champion. Effort played like someone who was supposed to drop out at ro8 and Flash played like someone who should've been trashed in the group stages. The only part out of the entire finals that felt like a final was the last 5-10 minutes on EotS. There was no real gameplay, with the only tangible thought patterns worthy of a BoX coming from Effort's weird expansion patterns in the early game. Just gambit vs gambit, and one bad move after another. It was bad not only for the players but for the spectators as well. Technical difficulties, delays, walkouts, short one-sided games with no strategic thrust and parry. Disappointing as all hell. I am a Flash fan, but after today I want JD to win MSL and to do it in his utterly dominating style because Flash's play was a hollow uninspired piece of shit. All I saw tonight was random replays from people on ICCUP. The presence of the players was nonexistent.

Ok I'm done ranting now. I'm going to take a break now. BAH. UGH. ASDF.

Game 5 was not simply all in lings, he went gas before pool so went lair and speed simultaneously, flash scouts lair first and then gets run over by a ling all in.

Game 4. Flash bbs'd and got scouted. GG.

Game 3. Flash got tricked by effort, thinking he'd go a third hatch in natural rather than more lings.

The flash bashing is unjustified, effort played really well the last 3 games and got lucky combined with great scouting and mind games. Marine scv micro at the end of a 5set final with that much pressure and unexpected speedlings would be a nightmare.

Flash is overconfident to begin with. He takes all kinds of risks that intimidate most players, and once it a while someone gets him off guard and reminds him that he "shouldn't" be playing so baller.

Games 3 and 5 Effort seized the opportunity and made good use of his lings - also risky play, but in reaction to Flash's missteps. Game 4 was just perfect execution and decision making by Effort - no mistakes.

TvZ has been Flash's worst MU for at least half a year. I honestly expected the upset.

lol Flash "let" the overlord spot his drop. just like Effort "let" Flash scan his hold lurkers and scourge positions in game 2.

Effort played horrible in game 1 and 2, imo he was even or ahead in both games and then threw it away.

I think he was ahead on game 1, but the timing push from Flash was too much for him to handle. Also, the queens got broodlings a little bit too late (or maybe they didn't have enough energy, most likely this). In game 2 he made horrible mistakes, like losing mutas carelessly and not doing enough with the mutas.

Anyway, EffOrt deserves this, and now CJ has a new champ .

Well, flash got arrogant AGAIN. His cockyness was shown in his game vs effort in PL. This time, he felt he can win because he thought he crushed Effort's heart. Effort is a baller.

Honestly speaking, I don't think Flash played to his maximum today. My biggest guess as to why is because he doesn't want to show Jaedong his current state, though one may argue that he risked his golden mouse in the process (which he eventually did lose).

I wanted to see him get that Golden Mouse so bad, but everything I've read up on for the match seems like the games were a bit lack luster in terms of pure skill.

They definitely were. I have to say I was rather disappointed with today's games. Didn't really feel a finals-game level of excitement at all. Flash vs Movie felt more exciting imo.

its not cocky, its not arrogant, its not flash losing focus and its not stupid of him to take risks. terran is fragile. playing to minimize losses can work to an extent, if you're good enough. look at all the solid terrans there have been, people like midas and hwasin, theyre ridiculously good. they won, alot. they never won a title. because once you start playing against bisu and jaedong and effort, if you play to not lose you have no chance because that style can be abused very hard. thats why flash has always been able to win, he is one of the best mechanically anyway, but he takes risks. theyre normally very well calculated and based on scouting and knowledge, not pure luck, but they are risks none the less and sometimes that backfires and you look stupid no matter who you are.
flash won game 2 cuz he left his base relatively open while mutas are out and goes to pressure effort's third. at that point hes way, way behind and if the attack doesnt go his way hes dead, but if he doesnt do anything with the situation hes in a lot of trouble anyway. so he takes his chance, and it works. game 4, if he just sits back and tries to turtle up effort runs him ragged with muta micro, given how fast mutas come off that build and the setup of fighting spirit. so he pushes out right before mutas will be out to try to pressure, hoping to catch effort off guard and force a sunken or lings, anything to lessen the effect of the mutas. but efforts prepared for this and it doesnt work. in both games hes in a tough situation and takes a risk to try to turn it in his favor. one game he looks great, the other he looks retarded.
a more conservative player will sit back and turret up both games, he doesnt run the risk of dying immediately and he doesnt end up looking stupid and getting criticized. but hes never gonna win a starleague.

Can you give us a bit of description of the atmosphere at the CJ house after Effort won?

CJ fans would really appreciate it, as the streams cut out a lot of the post game stuff, and the OSL had to hurry everything because the beginning was delayed so long.

What was Coach Cho's reaction? The other players?

Thanks in advance.

I think you're a bit mistaken in your emphasis.

(T)Flash didn't lose the finals. (Z)EffOrt won the finals.
