Through playing the high platinum ranks, i've noticed most of the high plat random players all play a particular style that leads them to success, in order to share this knowledge to the lower ranked random players who are struggling (much like i did with my TvP flow chart in a previous blog), i've made a simple flowchart for playing random and how to reach the higher ranks with it. 8 pool is better than 6 pool in zvz. it's not as all in ish, and you can get a queen and still build a crawler on his creep. if he went 13 pool your lings will get there when his pool is 75%, with crawler building tvt cheese is a lot easier to stop because they can throw down bunkers ez since they can be salvaged. just play straight up and abuse medivac drop all matchups other than zvz are a lot harder to cheese. if you try proxy gate or 6 pool vs terran that's easily stopped by wall (unless you build gates in his base). against protoss even if you kill half his probes with 6 pool you will still be behind in terms of worker count, and he can chrono zeals to stop more lings. marine scv all in gets blocked by force fields, crawlers (which any competent zerg should see), and as mentioned before virtually free bunkers. just play normally, he will have to scout earlier which gives you a slight eco advantage in the beginning | ||
