In Japan there's no shortage of salarymen near dead from drinking too much loitering the train stations at night. Come early the next day and they still haven't shoveled up all the puke. It just stuns me that people can get so stupid about consumption.

Sounds like any other parts of asian countries.

I think it has more to do with laws regarding public drunkenness.

i think it's awesome that you can pass out in public and not have anything really bad happen to you.

in america, you pass out in public, you will probably wake up without your wallet and with blood coming out of your butthole.

according to this post, you pass out in korea, people laugh at you on a blog but other than that you're fine. and based on a reply, you can do the same in japan. that's a testament to how safe those countries are!

This said, xenophobia can quickly change to racism and typically is intermixed. While being in more remote suburban areas I have has actual rocks fly past my head... the culprit nowhere in site. I hear the derogatory term of forgeiner so much I have grown to dislike the polite term.

I speak the language fluently; sometimes better than nationals, I pay taxes, bills, etc., yet I am significantly treated like a second class member of society. Again, I can only comment for Japan... but I imagine Korea is similar. But, I must say, I knew all of this going into it so I'm not really trying to say woes-is-me. Yeah, there's shit in my soup, but I guess I like the taste.

Wow, despite all that your experience is still so bad? Makes me wonder how much trouble that one black guy had. He had a site and all where he got kanchoed, I guess he laughed it off because it was the least of his worries.

I've never passed out on a street, but I do enjoy my beverages. No reason to think those people didn't have the time of their lives to end up like that.

Hey everyone. Was just perusin' through the google and came across this thread discussing the site near the top. Just wanted to throw a quick thanks out to those of you who enjoyed it. A lot of people don't (thus the need for anonymity), especially Koreans and gyopos. Obviously. Anyways, sorry to bump such an old thread but just wanted to say thanks for reading, good to hear people are enjoying it, helps me with the motivation to keep the site going. I also put a "hello teamliquid!" on the main page for y'all (to curtail troll suspection). Cheers!

Apparently, it's a common site in korea. It's just one of those scene which other koreans passing by just take a glimpse at them and just walk away.

If people not from Canada came over here for a visit saw some passed out people and did this stuff to them I would have no problem with it. Not sure why all the Koreans are getting so mad.

why dont people accept that different people have different ways of living their lives
nevergg's initial complaint about expats in korea, while possibly nosy, is still pretty legit because an disproportionate number of expats in korea tend to be drunkards/bad characters
there is no need to slam down on her way of living unless you can prove that your way of living (drinking and partying) is inarguably superior (not for you, but for her or other people)
but i believe you will find that quite difficult

I know I'm digging out an old thread, but anyways. Sad to see blackoutkorea.com has gone and I can't even find a cached version. ;-) Why is everyone so serious these days? -.- And why are the best (funny) sites always hosted at blogspot.com or blogger.com? ;-)

Concerning phos, I don't even quote (for truth) any of those older postings, but that really is funny, as it shows your own double-standards!! First you bash those party-people etc. and now you argue they shouldn't claim their way of life is superior? So what did you do earlier other than claiming to be a better person? LOL

I don't know your frustration, I guess it might be not getting Korean girls in the US or even back in Korea, but there is really no legit reason (except being Christian-Conservative) to judge other people (especially women) for choosing that lifestyle! If they chose to live like that, so what?! Consenting adults, having fun, why is that wrong? Why do people go party? Don't you think they could just go to any club, if they wanted Korean guys? If they go to Itaewon & hook up with some "eevil" foreigner, it is clearly THEIR choice and not the bad guy, who is hanging out there already anyways! He could just choose another fa..."pretty" American girl of course, but erm, maybe he has a reason not to? :D

And for the money, seriously, this is not much pay they get & not a great perspective! Complain to your government, not the teachers (I know there are quite some morons, but sure not everyone!), as the Korean government has set the standards on pay etc.! On the other, being in a capitalistic country, shouldn't you agree that supply and demand (the market) sorts out the pricing issue, so why whine about it?? If you aren't happy with your wage, maybe you should've thought about that earlier!

So yeah, as always, you living in the great USA should be ashamed to be narrow-minded. If you're into conservatism, better go to...um, actually there is no conservative country? US maybe, so you're already there indeed. But there's party & multicultural "fun" everywhere, if you don't like it
I don't like to get patronized concerning my life choices by people who prefer to keep some kind of racial segregation just because they're frustrated with their own life!!!

So why again do(n't) you accept that different people have different ways of living their lives?
