So it's ok for Koreans to drink excessively in their country but it is not ok for anyone else to do it?

Did I say that? No, I didn't. It's equally stupid and dangerous for people to do this regardless of their nationality. Even in somewhere as safe as Korea anything could happen to you while you're passed out in public - from mugging to assault.

phos: I wish it was as simple as government stupidity, but actually... since they don't want the resident military force to transition to residents they create a ton of barriers for Americans to get visas; however, if I was British, Canadian, or any other white country, it would be a cake walk.
Japanese tend to be exceptionally mild-mannered, so the notion of them throwing rocks is inconceivable; however, if there's anything you learn quickly about humans, they will always exceed your imagination and rarely in ways you had wished for.

SOJU WHEEE haha no actually, although i am korean, i fucking hate soju. most worthless disgusting alcohol (okay, not the WORST, but bordering it) i've tried. tastes like rubbing alcohol; not that i've tried rubbing alcohol, but i feel like that's how it would taste when i drink soju.
The drunk i get off soju is kinda different, i always end up with headaches. but meh, it's cheap, it gets the job done.
I remember this day i watched a korean movie w/ some friends, watched some actor CHUG bottle after bottle of soju, so i was like okay psh. went to a bar, and gulped down a soju straight from the bottle and ended up with the fukin nastiest headache ever.
i prefer GOOD, RICH liquor. fuck that nasty cheap shit

No thank you. I have more common sense than to do things as stupid as getting this drunk. I also have more fulfilling ways to spend my time and money. People can do what they like in Korea in relation to drinking and partying. That doesn't mean I have to do the same.

Oh my God you are approaching critical pressure, get that space suit on.
Come on, no one squeezes 100% value out of every second of their lives. In fact, most people have hours to kill each day. For me personally, some of my best memories with friends involve heavy drinking.

why dont people accept that different people have different ways of living their lives nevergg's initial complaint about expats in korea, while possibly nosy, is still pretty legit because an disproportionate number of expats in korea tend to be drunkards/bad characters there is no need to slam down on her way of living unless you can prove that your way of living (drinking and partying) is inarguably superior (not for you, but for her or other people) but i believe you will find that quite difficult

You will notice she calls it pathetic so I don't think she's free of your final line.

perhaps what she meant was that the many of expats, in general, were pathetic, which is a sentiment i tend to share but of course, these pics by themselves don't merit her calling them that pretty stupid? probably, but not necessarily pathetic
