CONGRATULATIONS ROFFLES!!!!
Roffles has won the beta key pinball competition with a score of 104000. His beta Key has already been sent to him. Thank you everyone who participated in the competition and to those who werent in the competition but played anyways. Looking at the high score page I found it funny how people with TL- accounts were all over it!

Congrats Roffles Welcome to Starcraft II BETA!

Hello admins, I am just trying to do my part in helping out teamliquid.net as much as I can. So I got a "invite a friend" on my beta account and I plan on doing just that..

I am going to make a contest that any...

TL staff member of any kind
STAR MEMBERS
may enter to win this key!!!!
I will edit this within an hour or so to think of the contest

FINAL EDIT OF COMPETITION!
OK
Since everyone seemed to slightly be against playing stacraft to win the key I have come up with a better idea, that I feel put you all on the exact same playing field..
The competition starts now! So go ahead, get your high score... Since 2 spots are still open The first 2 TL staff members and/or Starred members who DO NO HAVE A KEY will be allowed entry if they PM me before midnight PST (california time) today! 3/19/2010

ONLINE PINBALL
Yup you all will be playing pinball off a website I found (and tested I thought it was quite fun).
Its Amusement Park pinball located here: http://www.onlinepinball.net/htm/games/themepark.htm
Here are the rules!
1) You must play it yourself!
2) Highest Score wins
3)You can play as many times as you want to get the highest score possible
4) To validate your score, you must create an account on the website provided below..
5) To further validate your score you MUST have your account name start with TL-(namehere)
DIRECTIONS
Create an account here: http://www.gamesonly.net/register.php
Play the pinball game here: http://www.onlinepinball.net/htm/games/themepark.htm
SUBMIT YOUR HIGH SCORE! When you submit your highscore you will be brought to a page that looks like this which clearly identifies the player and score...

Take a screenshot of your highscore and load it here into this thread (Also please PM me saying that you have submitted a score so that I may time-stamp your entry).
I will be pming the entrants listed below to confirm the change of tournament.

THE TOURNAMENT WILL END MIDNIGHT TOMORROW NIGHT 3/20/2010 PST!

Entrants
1)Sonuvbob
2)zx3k
3)l10f
4)roffles
5)motbob
6)T.O.P
7)Klogon
8)open
Pm me to get an "open" slot

I am fairly certain Blizzard gave beta keys to all of the admins/contributors on big Starcraft websites. Don't quote me however :D

Great idea, and if anyone deserves it it's the admins, but with how a lot of people just got an 'invite a friend' key and how many admins already had keys, i doubt any of them will be left wanting

edit: according to other posts however i may be wrong :O.

Actually, I think everyone with a colored name has a key. Why don't you give it to someone with a star, instead?

I know for a fact that Roffles still doesn't have one.
See you tomorrow

If I remember correctly, Beyonder said he didn't have a key, and he's a mod isn't he?

Not every staff member has one necessarily but... I don't understand how exactly you have one to give away.

"So I got a "invite a friend" on my beta account and I plan on doing just that.." What does this mean? I haven't heard of this.

edit: oh I see the thread now ty motbob

blizz realeased a bunch of keys to people that already have the beta with the intent for them to "invite-a-friend" so essentially... they gave a shitload of keys to people already in the beta hoping they would give them to friends.

So I am going to give mine to a deservant TL.net admin, they do a lot of work to keep the site running properly and I dont need 2 keys.. and I dont need $150 so badly that I cant help out the community with it instread

Which makes no fucking sense, why not give them to people who don't have them, who check their email every hour of every day. Why not give them to the people that kneel over their beds every night in prayer that tomorrow, they may get that fateful email from a blizzard address. I think I'm just going to resign myself to the fact that I will have to wait for the release...

Because if a shitload of work wasnt put into this site everyday we all wouldn't be here. They commentate games and set up streams and get rid of the trolls and make cool events for us to watch like TSL, and we dont pay a penny to them for any of this.

So for once, One of them is going to get something in return.

I think you misunderstood my post, I'm talking about why Blizzard would give another key to someone who already has a key. Believe me, I probably appreciate teamliquid alot more than you do

You don't get it? All Broodwar sites get say 5-12 keys from Blizzard. Now with the "Invite a friend wave" the number doubles. TL.net can provide keys to their stuff members on their own.

Rage more that your not getting the key?
I opened this blog so the TL staff would see it and get back to me on who needs one. For all I care you can make your own blog about how many people are getting keys and because all you do is complain about not having one, nobody gave you one...

No where in his post does it imply that he is upset that he doesn't have a beta key. He is commentating on your inability to understand the fact that most TL admins probably either have a Beta key or have a good reason for not having one. But again, I just have to say that I am speculating and using common sense. You should probably read the post twice before clicking the reply button lol
