So I pulled another all-nighter to finish up writing a couple papers I have due later today, and probably had more coffee than is healthy. One thing I did find, however, is that warm drinks are pretty fucking awesome.
They really help soothe my throat, which perpetually irritated as I'm a smoker and drinker. However, I don't really want to drink any more coffee, and I don't have any tea on me at the moment.
What I do have, though, is some milk. I used to drink warm milk way back when I was a kid, and, to be honest, it sounds like it'd be pretty good right now.
But...I don't know how to prepare it, or to be more precise, exactly how warm I should make it.
Is warm milk good piping hot? Or should I just make it "warm"? I'm afraid to experiment, as I don't want to screw it up and end up having to visit the restroom every fifteen minutes due to an upset stomach today.
What do you guys think?

My mom told me to heat milk to the point where there aren't any stuff solidifying in the top.
I don't think heating will it causes any problems, I mean it'll just re-pasteurize it won't it?

um put in the teh mircowave for a min or 2

I recommend stirring some honey into the hot milk. Not only does it taste good, it's also a household remedy for the throat.
|
microwave 2 minutes gogogo
|
I always like warming the milk so that it's hot enough that you need to at least wait a little before drinking it. If it's not warm enough it isn't as good/soothing.
|
Warm milk is fantastic. If you microwave it, I recommend stirring it before you drink it, or otherwise parts of it are hot and other parts are cold. Personally I really like heating some milk on the stove in a pot. Takes a bit longer but I think it turns out nicer.
|
hey becareful..if you microwave it too long the protein will form a solid...so don't over microwave it
|
I don't like using the microwave. I think you end up having more control over how warm it is when you put it over the stove in a pot! Just make sure you don't overheat it T_T

At over 40 degrees Celsius honey changes it's properties and becomes slightly toxic!. If you put honey in your milk just wait till the milk is cooler.

This uhh.... doesn't happen.

Doctor here.
Choose your temperature. no problem. However if it is really too hot don't drink (let it become warm before) because drinking it too hot can cause in the time (years) esophagus cancer

Honey in hot tea ... troll or just stupid?

Not necessarily stupid, apparently Ayurvedic theories hold that honey heated can turn toxic (yay, google). However, for household consumption, most honey has been heated while bottling for 40C and above.
Basically, no, won't die from it.
|
So does that mean honey barbecue is going to kill me?
|
I should have bolded slightly. Lolol Romanians.
It doesn't mean you're gonna die from it, but in time, if you repeat doing so, it will have a bad effect on your organism.

Yes I am and I clearly am dumb enough to bite on your extraordinary well disguised trolling attempt. So where are you from?

Quit saying lolol romania if it doesn't even apply. In fact, that kind of shit quickly becomes a stereotype. He's just trying to help out the guy, while saying "lolololol Romania" doesn't help a rat's ass.
That being said, I just mix and let the milk cook on the stove until there is none of that condensed stuff on the top, and then let it cool for like 20 seconds and chug.

Isn't some (most?) hot chocolate made with milk? Hot chocolate is pretty hot.

Hot chocolate.
That is all.

I heat a glass of milk for like 30 seconds in the microwave and its perfect for me, but its not "hot," just warm.

I like warm milk. If it gets too hot, it's just meh.
Hot chocolate on the other hand is great. Some of the best stuff out there. It's just so nice on a chilly day to get home and have a cup of hot chocolate.

I had no idea people are so worried about things like this.. especially when it's about milk, almost completely natural product. Just heat it till it feels good to drink. Trial and error. You won't die because your milk is too hot or too cold.
|
Warm milk is delicious, especially with honey. You can drink it hot or warm, whichever suits your needs. Also, honey does not become toxic when dissolved in hot milk, lmao.
|
Best way to heat milk is with the steam wand on an expresso machine. Makes it taste divine.
|
I like to drink mochas. Coffee is a diuretic though.
