Hello TL,
As the title of this blog suggests, I'm doing an English paper on TeamLiquid. And I'm having troubles rummaging through the vast archives of articles here at tl. I was just wondering if anyone could help and link me a few articles that cover the history of tl, its inception and its very early stages. I seem to recall a great article that explored the early days of TL and the state of the coverage of the Pro scene during that time (but I can't remember the name.) Any help/links to articles would be greatly appreciated.

Eh, honestly. I'm not trying to be an ass, but why don't you pick an easier topic? Is this a high school or college level course? I don't think a college course would accept a paper on some obscure pro gaming site.

(I wrote a masters paper based on a case study of TL second language usage and got an A, so it is possible  )

College level course, we're doing a first hand research paper on online discourse communities (I'm at Purdue U, if that lends any credibility.) And the last thing I'd call TL would be obscure, I do believe (from what I've seen) that TL is THE one stop shop for everything SC and easily the most recognizable SC forum.
Oh and I didn't choose an easier topic because: I'm familiar with this site, I give lots of respect to the members here, I'm passionate about SC. And I *ahem* ain't no bitch.

what was that one person on teamliquid who pretended to be a girl, and everyone thought she was a girl, and she was like a freaking teamliquid celebrity and everyone here nerd fapped to her every post.
then turned out she was a guy, and she got banned so hard. this was a long time ago, a few years?
I forgot her name. would be nice to read a short account of her involvement and TL's reaction. I'd say it was a bad relationship. not gg. no re.

You know I've been a TL lurker for a very very long time and I myself have wondered, who owns the rights to teamliquid? Like really who makes the paycheck off advertisements and such? Is it Manifesto7 or waxangel? Is there a thread with the answer to this question? I just read the article posted on page one (great read by the way) and it still didn't answer my question...

Yes you can all argue, tl.net belongs to everyone. Its a community of sorts, which I agree... But whose is it really?
