I got a 80 gb iPod for free from a friend who moved away, and iTunes is just terrible. I've reformatted my iPod 4 different times. It just randomly stopped working. I found a program called Sharepod though, and os far it seems to be working, only time will tell.

Once after a sync my iPhone ended up crashing everytime I scrolled past the letter D in artist names so I ended up having to reset it and re-sync with iTunes. That was kind of annoying. Even if you're not experiencing any problems iTunes, I strongly suggest you switch to either WinAmp or foobar2000. It's just a better program.

Itunes along with ipod is the biggest selling and most successful portable mp3 player on the market.. zune is like 1/5th as big as ipod is. I mean, sorry to hear about ur troubles w/ ur itunes and ur ipod and im not sure what might be wrong with it.. i've never really came across a problem that serious before.. nothing that couldn't be cured with a little research. hope u find a good, well working alternative to itunes or at least, try to start all over w/ a new itunes version w/ a reformatted ipod (u dont have to lose all ur music to do this and is worth a shot)

iTunes/mac is a other story. You can always use something else to play music. Before switching to mac I used to drag-and-drop my music files into iTunes, then sync. iTunes will not reorganize he files on your collection if you unchecked the appropriate setting.

I had to reformat my computer last week, and since the new Itunes account on this computer is the new primary, it wants to sync my Ipod to it. Currently, my computer has zero songs on it - my Ipod has everything..... So you can guess what it wants to do to the music on my Ipod..... And you can't go the other way around unless the song was bought off of the Itunes site..... I'll say it again. Itunes is terrible. WMP is so much better, but you can't use it for an Ipod.....

Absolutely awful. Just because the ipod sells more, does not mean its better. I mean, look at the MAC, or a fucking iPad. LOL. I'm hoping sharepod will work. Its still loading music onto my iPod. I have no money for another though.

Though it does seem like you need to reformat your iPod. Have you tried calling the manufacturers?

That didn't stop me from uninstalling it due to it using 5x as many resources as iTunes.

Just google and find sharepod, you noob. Lets you transfer songs from your ipod to your PC, regardless of where you got them ![]() Literally every complaint people have about iPod was solved years and years ago by the absolutely gigantic base of 3rd party applications people have made for it. That's why it's good to have the most popular player on the market... Just like it's good to have windows. Everything is designed for it. That said, I got off the iPod horse when I found out there was no rockbox for the newest generation, and I prefer using ogg format. But still, 2 years ago what I'm saying is true! Shame on you if you don't do product research ![]()

Basically, what happened was I got a store credit with my previous player when it broke, and my mother decided to spend it on an Ipod touch..... Yea..... I was thinking about getting a Zune 120 as a replacement with that credit, and it would have come cheaper too..... Considering that I don't use any of the aps other than the calculator..... Yea. Itunes is terrible. As are Ipods.

They are just named all funky, the id3 tags are still i tact though, so just copy all that shit from your ipod to your comp.
